What are the eligibility criteria through the NRI quota at JBIMS?

YV
Yashluv Virwani Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
Studied at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies

You must have a minimum of 50% marks in total to be eligible for admission to JBIMS. You must also be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized institute. Your eligibility for admission will be determined based on your valid scores in MAH CET or CAT. If you are selected for final admissions, you will have the opportunity to benefit from a unique learning experience at JBIMS. The cut-off percentile in entrance examinations changes every year, so you must stay updated on it regularly.

If you meet all these eligibility criteria, you will be considered for further rounds of the admission process.

Please note that for NRI/PIO candidates, the fee for the 2-year MMS program will be increased to INR 12 lakhs per year, which is twice the amount charged to general category students.

What is generally the CAT percentile cutoff required for admission at FMS, Delhi under the CW (defense) category?

AB
Armandeep Bhatia Posted On : January 10th, 2023
FMS Delhi

The FMS Delhi 2023 cutoff for admissions will be released soon. It will publish its MBA admission policy 2023 on its official website, with admission granted based on the CAT 2022 score. The CAT score required for a call from FMS Delhi is typically in the 99th percentile. The cutoff is determined by the composite score in CAT. It is determined by the number of candidates who took the CAT exam, the number of candidates who passed the CAT, the number of seats available in each category, FMS's previous CAT scores, and so on.

FMS cutoffs for CW 1, 2, and 3 are expected to be 11.00, 9.29, and 26.23, respectively. FMS has 12 supernumerary seats available in the CW (defense) category.

Is there any reservation for home state candidates for XLRI and is there any preference for girls in XLRI?

SS
Shahistha Sayyed Posted On : June 14th, 2021
MBA from Xavier School of Management

To get into XLRI, one has to make it to their merit list. You are wrong to believe that one has to secure a sort of special preference just because they are a "home candidate" in particular.

XLRI neither is under any such compulsion nor does it reserve any seats for any candidate like that. As a matter of fact, no institute does that. Just like the boys, the girls who are admitted at XLRI too possess the apt skills and smartness it takes to reach there. Whatever is taught to girls is similar to what is taught to the boys too. Believing in a misconception like that should be corrected right away.

To conclude, all I would like to say is that be it XLRI or any other institute- not even a single one of them in today's time cares about gender preference. If you are smart, you would be welcomed and respected everywhere.

CAT 100 percentiler, IIMA Alumnus, Co Founder at Cracku

The CAT score required to gain admission to the top IIMs is determined by one's profile. The admission process at IIM Ahmedabad is a little complicated, and it is determined by a number of factors other than the candidate's CAT score. The following are the broad criteria for receiving a call from the IIMs:

  • Academic profile, including grades in 10th, 12th, and undergrad.
  • Academic Variety.
  • Working experience
  • Diversity in gender.
  • Evaluation by category (EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, PWD).

The following are the weights assigned to each component in order to calculate the Final Composite Score:

COMPONENTS WEIGHTS
CAT Score 25 Points
Personal Interview 50 Points
Analytical Writing Test 10 Points
Application Rating 15 Points
Total 100

Here is a quick summary of the admissions process for IIM Ahmedabad.

How do I get into JBIMS through the NRI quota?

SJ
Sidhharth Jain Posted On : March 6th, 2023
Education Consultant

In order to be eligible for JBIMS, you must have one blood relative who is an NRI. You will have to appear for the MH-CET exam. JBIMS does not have a GDPI round as the admission process is conducted through a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) round. JBIMS is considered one of the top-ranked business schools in India and is affiliated with the University of Mumbai.

The average placement at JBIMS last year was 27.63 LPA, with the highest being 42 LPA. JBIMS is sometimes referred to as the "factory of CEOs." The team will guide you based on your profile to help secure a confirmed admission at JBIMS or other top business schools in India that fit your budget.

If you don't want to waste a year, it is recommended to approach the team immediately to start the admission process for JBIMS. If you would like more information about the admission process or references from students admitted to JBIMS through the team last year, feel free to ask at any time. However, it is important to note that there are limited seats available.

CUSAT conducts a common aptitude test (CAT) for students interested to join the institute for further educational career. The exam is must for applying to any undergraduate courses, post graduate courses, B.tech in naval engineering, M.Phil and PhD.

The reservation criterion as defined for the coming year. The important points are as follows:

  • Reservation is given to candidates that belong to Kerala SC/ST community.
  • 3% seats are for physically challenged candidates that have at least 40% disability.
  • A quota for candidates who opt for higher education is also there.
  • Reservation is also different in terms of different courses.

A clear description is as follows:

MBA

50% seats are reserved for people who have certain work experience of more than 3 years.

MPhil

50% seats for people having 2 years experience

MCA

2 seats for people having 3 years of experience

Oceanography seats /Atmospheric services

2 seats

Computer/IT courses

5 seats

Naval candidates.

15 seats

J&K candidates

2 seats

The reservation is quite diversified and is present in all courses in some form or other. It is basically a medium to bridge the gap and focus on improving the career graph of certain streams which are less preferred.

What are the chances to convert IIM Sambalpur, if my waiting is 62 EWS category in the fifth list?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : February 13th, 2023
IIM SBP PGP'23 || CAT '21- 98.29%ile || CAT '20- 95.8%ile

It is currently too early to provide a definitive answer regarding the outcome of your question. However, there are cases where students were in a similar situation as you and become anxious as well as desperate to want a seat. It is advised to have patience and go with the flow.

There was a case where a student had a waitlist number of 2XX, and no one was convinced that it is possible to convert at that number. However, due to various factors such as the uncertainty caused by Covid, online classes, and other factors, the waitlists may go even further than in previous years. He received an admission offer to IIM Sambalpur, which was something he had been waiting for.

There may be many factors that come into play such as external and internal factors that may influence the process, such as batch strength. It is important to keep an open mind and have patience as the outcome may be different from what you expect.
