Is there a gym in NIT Jamshedpur?
The answer is both, yes or no. It is because there is no separate building for Gym, in which you can get all the infrastructural facilities that are available in the so-called Gym along with the modern equipment.
However, you can get some of the Gym equipment in the hostel rooms. It includes mostly Yoga Mat, Dum-Bells, and Clutches and skipping ropes, etc. This equipment is generally purchased as per the decision of HEC (Hostel Executive Council). Thereby, if you know anyone from this council (HEC), you can get Gym equipment according to your choices. Besides, these are also kept then in the common hostel rooms.
If you are very much serious about Gym, then you can join the outside Gym of the college campus; however, the charges are very ostensible.
Students in the IIT Bhubaneswar are missing lot facilities. They don't have proper ground to play and people say it is less than an average college. Is this true?
IIT Bhubaneswar is among the second generation of IIT and it was established in 2008. Despite being a newly established institute, IIT Bhubaneswar is doing quite well in terms of academics and placements. According to 2020 NIRF Rankings. IIT Bhubaneswar was ranked at 22nd among the engineering colleges in India.
It is a new IIT and still in the developing phase, so it does not have the infrastructure as the old well-established IITs like Delhi, Bombay, etc. IIT Bhubaneswar as a campus is much better than any other new IITs but it does lack a proper playground and the students have to depend on the IMMT grounds which are only open for weekends. It also does not have some facilities like few labs for the school of Mechanical Engineering. But that does not mean IIT Bhubaneswar is any less. IIT Bhubaneswar is a new establishment and it will take some more years for this institute to come at the same level as the old IITs.
IIT Bhubaneswar also offers many facilities, for example, it has a Design and Innovation Centre (DIC) which is funded by the Ministry of Human Research Development (MHRD). Students work on cultural programs, fests, around the year to liven up the culture of IIT. IIT Bhubaneswar may not have all the facilities like the old IITs but they are trying their best to improve the IIT status.
How is the infrastructure of IET Lucknow? Is it a good place to study if I take the CS branch?
I have a few friends from IET, so I think I can give some information about the institute. Here are some points to consider.
- The infrastructure is slightly decent, yet not the best.
- You will also acquire clean and an immaculate hostel facility, alongside incomparable mess food at a very considerable rate in the first year.
- However, the hostels allotted to students after their first year are not at their best stage. Students generally obtain old hostel rooms, with a certain substandard infrastructure quality. The food quality yet remains the best, irrespective of the year students are in.

- In Computer Science, students generally get placed in service-based companies, with a decent average package. However, students who are well prepared secure offers in top firms like Adobe, Amazon, and more. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered to the students is 5 LPA.
Securing admission at IET Lucknow can be a very good choice. It is considered amongst the several top institutes of the country.
Which is better for ECE in terms of faculty, infrastructure, etc.: IIT Bhubaneswar or IIT (ISM) Dhanbad?
For ECE, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is a better option. The department has a good infrastructure. After the conversion to IIT, the labs are housed in the New Academic Complex. It is well-equipped with cutting-edge technology and facilities. Core Electronics companies such as Texas Instruments, HCL, etc. visit the IIT Dhanbad placements. Non-core placements are also good. Amazon, Microsoft IDC, Adobe Systems, Goldman Sachs, etc. recruit ECE students too. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 12 - 15 LPA.
How is IIM Visakhapatnam so far, can anyone shed some light over infrastructure, library and faculty? Why should I choose IIM V over other IIMs?
Classrooms
The classroom facilities at IIM Visakhapatnam are no joke and even IIM Bangalore professors were impressed by the classroom infrastructure. The classrooms are horse-shoe shaped elevated at every step to facilitate better professor and student contact.

For book lovers, IIM Vishakhapatnam’s library is heaven. The vast library with 24-hour accessibility makes it one of the best. How much time will it take for IIIT Guwahati to be fully established (gym, playing ground, different clubs extra)? Are there any plans the institute have for these things?
A friend of mine is currently studying in the 2nd year at IIIT Guwahati and recently shifted to the new campus. However, the campus is still getting completed with minor changes remaining.
Here’s the current scenario at IIIT G according to him:
- Gym: It is almost completed with basic types of equipment and benches. For the starting few semesters there were no machines and equipment. However, you can also join various gyms nearby the airport which is in close proximity to the college.
- Playgrounds: You will see a lot of emphasis on sports and games, not only the outdoor but indoor like table tennis, carom, chess, etc. There are newly constructed basketball, tennis and badminton courts, football and cricket fields also.
- Intercollege tournaments: You can actively participate in various sports/game tournaments and competitions held by clubs where you can compete against other colleges like IIT Guwahati, AEC, etc.
- Clubs: You can choose among several clubs, some of them are Reading Club, Programming Club, Music Club, Quiz Club, Literary Club, Movie Club, Yoga, and fitness Club, Dance Club, Photography club, etc.
There are ample opportunities for extracurricular activities besides academics. Also, the recent increase of intake from 90 students to 230 students has led to a significant improvement in these fields. In the end, your interest and participation are what drives the campus.
Is there a swimming pool in IIT Bhubaneswar?
No, there is no swimming pool inside the campus of IIT Bhubaneswar as of now. However, the construction of a swimming pool has been included in the upcoming campus plan. For now, the swimming pool at Kalinga Stadium Bhubaneswar which is one of the best swimming pools is used by the aquatics team of IIT Bhubaneswar for practice. According to the director of the institute, plans for an Olympic size swimming pool have been there in the pipeline for a long time and it may take at least two more years to be constructed. There are also plans to include the swimming pool in the Student Activity Centre itself(SAC). So there are no swimming pools in the student activity center as of now, but there may be one in a couple of years.
Is the IIT Bhubaneswar campus completely ready? Does it have a single campus or some students at the old campus also?
The campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is completely ready and it is good for the students who want to take admission in this college. The total campus area is around 936 acres of land. All the academic blocks that were constructed and are functioning well so that there is no problem to work on the new campus with good infrastructure facilities. Any fresher who takes admission in IIT Bhubaneswar will be accommodated in the permanent campus each year. This is the policy of the college so that it builds a decorum and help to work as per the proper guidelines. In IIT Bhubaneswar there is one boy’s hostel and one girl hostel. But from January 2019 it was shifted in the permanent new campus where there are more boys’ hostel and girl hostel. By which there would not be any problem for the fresher who wants to take admission and stay there.
Will there be a gym for boys in the IIIT Guwahati new campus?
No, there is no gym for boys at IIIT Guwahati's new campus. According to the management, it was expected by 2019, but the institute did not make it up within the speculated time. The new campus of IIIT Guwahati was just set up in 2018, and it was the first academic year on the campus. The points below give some more information about the fact.
- In the previous campus, there were private gyms near the hostel for boys. Most students avail those gyms only.
- In the new campus, there are roughly four phases of construction. This is entirely prioritized based on the needs and requirements of the institute to set up. In the first phase of the construction, only the hostels and admission blocks were finished.
- A boy’s gym needs a lot of amenities and instruments to be a useful one. During the initial phases of construction, there is no expectation of a gym in the new campus. It may be developed during later phases.
So, getting a gym at IIIT Guwahati any sooner would be a gift from the institute. Until then, students should leave expectations for the same, and focus on other means to stay fit and healthy.
Does IIT Gandhinagar have facilities and a good infrastructure?
IIT Gandhinagar is the only IIT among various other semi-new IITs to have entirely shifted all its premises into its own campus.
- IITGN is privileged with an afresh 21st-century campus, which is popularly facilitated with all the major necessities. Besides, it also is benefited with enough infrastructure that can weigh up to catering to more than its current magnitude of students as a whole.
- The new campus of the institution has both capacious classrooms, and small classrooms alongside huge auditoriums, offices for staff members, professors, and faculty employees all anew.
- Alongside those spacious rooms, it also has newly made 6 hostel buildings and 2 messes with various modernized equipment like wifi routers, smoke detectors, and more devices alike.
- The institution has a gymnasium, basketball court, cricket ground, volleyball court, temporary athletics track, TT room, and a football ground as well. There are things other than these which students can explore once they visit this vast campus.
Thus, as per your question concerns, IIT Gandhinagar has both facilities and infrastructure at par with other world-class institutes and is yet under development to become better.
