Yes, I think it’s a fairly good decision to take admission to IIM Jammu. This is because in the long run your IIM degree and tag will be very beneficial.
I know you might think that IIM Jammu is just a newly established institute and may not be worth leaving a job at Infosys. But if you look at the placement scenario here you can see how quickly it has come to establish itself in the IIM Race.

These figures certainly prove that IIM Jammu is climbing the ladder slowly and steadily.
Apart from placements, the following merits add to its worth
So IIM is itself a brand name. You will not regret choosing any IIM be it IIM Jammu or any other.
It’s up to you to decide which college to go to. I can only throw some light on the advantages IIM Jammu has over other newly established IIMs including IIM Bodh Gaya
These points are based on my friends' experience only. If you ask others I am sure you will see mixed responses. This is because both the IIMs are newly established and don’t have much difference.
IIM Jammu has stopped its Student Immersion Program. The same has been replaced with its Student Exchange Program. IIM Jammu has ties with 7 foreign colleges from Europe (including Greece), and talks are in place with 2 other colleges.
Under this program, select students from IIM Jammu get a chance to spend a trimester at one of these foreign colleges. For the same duration, some students from that particular college are called to the IIM Jammu campus. IIM Jammu selects its students for the exchange program based on merit.
The exchange program is a great learning experience which offers plenty of exposure to students from both sides.
Unlike the general misconception, Jammu is as safe as any other city in India. Only Kashmir is inflicted by riots and has a conflict environment. My sister had no doubts when she made the decision to pursue MBA from IIM Jammu. In fact, even our parents did not worry about her relentlessly.
As a part, a little concern on their part is justified. But if the riots and conflicts are the reason your parents can rest assured as Jammu is a very safe city.
Moreover, IITs and IIMs are institutes of great national importance. Hence strict regulations are imposed to maintain safety within the campus.

There are various options available for students who get selected in top Indian institutions like IITs and IIMs. IIMs offer scholarships, cash prizes during competitions, and other financial benefits to the students. I can tell you about the student loan that I secured from the bank to complete my education at IIM Indore.
Banks willingly provide education loans at low-interest rates to meritorious students of IIMs because of the credibility of IIMs and the good earning prospect of the students. There are a few requirements for securing the loan-
For other options like scholarships and financial assistance, the student should consider contacting the IIM Jammu office and explaining his situation. Even philanthropic institutions can be of help to him.
You should pursue an MBA at IIM Jammu. Your decision in this case should be influenced by the IIM's strong reputation for quality and the respect you receive from those around you. The following are the reasons behind the same:
Without a doubt, IIM Jammu is a perfect platform for one to enjoy and live in a very peaceful and aesthetic place, with nice people around you, while maintaining professionalism. It has a cultural festival, a sports festival, numerous fun events, celebrations, and so on that, you will remember for the rest of your life.
For its 2020-22 batch, FORE School of Management has completed 100% placement as early as January 2022. The ideal number of years of work experience for an Indian business school's standard 2-year MBA program is between 2-3. However, in the United States, the ideal work experience for the MBA program is 5 years or more. Also, in India, if you can get into top schools, your higher work experience can be compensated. With this work experience, IIM Jammu will never be a good fit.
If you drop this year and try again next year, your work experience will be around 5 years, and the funnel will need to be even narrower for the 2-year program. Another option is to attend a foreign business school, but this will be expensive.
In light of the fact that an MBA is more of an investment than an academic achievement, you are advised to proceed with caution. Furthermore, the program moves at a breakneck pace. Make a thoughtful decision by taking some time to think things through.
Some students pursue an MBA/PGPM to learn about various aspects of business and management; others pursue it to network, and still, others pursue it to gain expertise in a specific field. However, everyone does it in order to succeed for the whole of their long career and advance their professional prospects. Management positions, consultants, human resources professionals, and entrepreneurs are all possible career paths.
Having said that, an MBA/PGDM program should be objectively evaluated as well as subjectively positioned. The structure, outcomes, exposure, and career services of the program should be updated on a regular basis.
Great Lakes' application-oriented teaching-learning pedagogy and holistic learning environment enable it to provide its graduates with excellent career opportunities.
