Amrita University Coimbatore offers 2-year full-time MBA programs under several specializations. The admissions to the Amrita University MBA program are done through National level entrance examinations like KMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, GRE followed by a personal interview. Amrita University Coimbatore offers MBA and different specializations like marketing, finance, operation management, economics, and human resource management.

Students need to score a minimum of 50% in the bachelor's degree in any discipline and are also required to present scores of CAT/MAT/XAT, etc for admission into specific MBA disciplines.

Being from Andhra Pradesh or any other state it is not possible to get a seat in Coimbatore as you will fall under the open quota but it is possible to get a seat in Amritapuri.
- Suppose you have completed your 11th and 12th from Tamil Nadu, then you would be eligible to get a seat in Coimbatore. You can apply through state quota but any student who is applying other than Tamil Nadu would fall under the open quota.
- Applying through state quota has its own advantages as these students are given more preference even if they score a rank of around 9000 as seats are reserved for the students who are applying through state quota. It is even easier for them to choose a branch of their choice.
- Although students applying through state quota can get a seat easier than open quota students, this still doesn't guarantee a seat to every student applying under state quota.
- A student has to study a lot and score higher marks in the entrance examination in order to secure a seat, as there are a lot of students applying and the students with higher marks and rankings will only be eligible to secure a seat.

Which Amrita branch is better for CSE, Amritapuri or Coimbatore?
One of my friends was a student from Amrita and she pursued ECE on the Bangalore campus. According to her experience, in general, the Coimbatore campus is better among the two.
The reason behind choosing Amrita University, Coimbatore is because of its well-structured infrastructure and great academic culture. The Coimbatore campus has also remained consistent in being ranked high amongst most Indian colleges.
However, for the CS branch specifically, my friend suggests the Bangalore campus. The academic culture in the institute is significantly good. Moreover, the rules and regulations in the institute are not as strict as on the Coimbatore campus, letting students have a better amount of balance.
Since you are in close vicinity with various IT companies and are surrounded by classmates belonging from households where either parent might be working in similar companies can provide you a commendable orientation as well.
As per the recent trends the average and highest CTC offered at the Bangalore campus is 40 LPA and 80 LPA respectively.
According to my friend, you will also have a better peer group with good communication skills at the Bangalore campus as opposed to the other two. So, choosing the Bangalore campus may give you an edge.

In terms of academics, Amrita University matches the IIT syllabus and course structure. The infrastructure and laboratories are in good condition. College life is the most interesting part. Amrita University's Coimbatore campus is one of the cleanest in India and spans 500 acres. Amrita is a very diverse campus and a great place to make new friends. There is no such constraint. Cell phones are not permitted in the classroom. However, after leaving the classroom, you can talk to your loved ones. A minimum attendance requirement of 80% must be met, or you must present sufficient justification for your absence.
Amrita provides free wifi that is typically 0.5Mbps fast. Aside from YouTube, Facebook, and a few other sites, most academic content is available. Everything else is restricted. What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Amrita University?
The first year can be considered a cakewalkif you are well versed in the subjects taught in the 11th and 12th standards.
- There is an additional topic called Auto CAD for which you would require a little bit of imagination.
- The curriculum has Cultural studies and it is a very nice subject. It would be probably the best and knowledgeable course taught in the 1st year of college.
- When it comes to the marking scheme, score well in the quizzes and the periodical tests. They would prove to be a very good asset for you in the future. Try to maintain a good SGPA over 9.
- The college faculty is very strict about the attendance criteria, keep that in mind.
- Transfer from one branch to another can happen upon request but you must score good marks in your first year. Preferably a score above 9.0 SGPA can help make the transfer process easier for you.
- The seniors are considered to be very respectable people here at the college. Just respect them enough if and only they deserve the respect.

Which is better Amrita university or Karunya university?
Karunya University is a better option than Amrita University. It makes you a better individual not only academically but holistically as well. The daily assembly sessions make you motivated and feel good. Here is why you should choose Karunya University over Amrita University.
- Academics: The course structure and the academic ambiance are designed in such a way that students automatically prepare for the semester exams. Moreover, the questions asked are mainly from the class lectures so your notes help a lot.
- Higher Studies: Many students from Karunya go on to study PG in top universities abroad. Its name is well-recognized abroad and in India.
- Infrastructure: Karunya University has an amazing infrastructure. It has well-equipped labs.

- Hostel and Mess: Karunya University has a North and South mess. Mess food is exceptionally good and the hostels are neat and well maintained.

The All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE) cut off by rank was- 9199 for the general category and economically weaker sections and at 9983 for the OBCs, in 2018. In 2019, it was 8893 for general category students and economically weaker students and 10421 for OBCs.
The merit list will be prepared based on 60% marks secured in AEEE 2020 and 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

It must be noted that Amrita will not be offering Engineering programs in the Amaravati campus this year, 2020.

Besides this, in 2017 the Open Quota Rank at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri was between 5696-6991 and the State Quota Rank was between 16547-19969.
The possibility of getting any of the branches is open to students with a rank of 4396. Following the trend shown in the table and comparing it to the 2018 rank scale which had the opening rank between 1-750 for the general category and 1-15000 for the reserved categories. State Quota for the AEE saw the opening rank between 10001–12500 and the closing rank between 20001–22500.

According to the previous year’s cut-off mentioned, it is very hard for the student to get admissions into the Amrita Coimbatore campus with a rank of 2,231.
