Yes, it is definitely worth it to drop out of Presidency College Bangalore for SSCBS DU to pursue BBA.

Here are some reasons why:

  • SSCBS is a very tough institute to get admission in. Students who usually do not get a chance to study here opt for other colleges.
  • Scoring good marks in a DU-JAT examination is really hard.
  • Dropping one year totally depended on the individual. If you want to take government exams, then for just a basic degree it is not worth dropping a year.
  • But if you wish to have overall development in your personality, skills and knowledge, then SSCBS is the best option.
  • The brand of DU, and learning in a prestigious college has its own perks.
  • Your brilliant peers will have a positive impact on your personality.

For a BBA course, SSCBS will be a good choice as placement here is really good which other colleges might lack.

How is life at SSCBS?

A
AstralTrek Posted On : February 27th, 2026

Overall, life at SSCBS while pursuing BBA (Financial Investment Analysis) has been quite fulfilling. The faculty is knowledgeable, and they often use case studies which make the learning experience engaging. The course fees are only about 25,000 per year, which is a steal for the quality we're getting.

However, while placements are good, with an average package of around 11 LPA, I’ve noticed that not everyone gets internships through the college; many students have to seek opportunities off-campus. The campus isn't very big, but it has all the necessary facilities and a decent library. Just wish there was more emphasis on sports and extracurricular activities.

Which is better Sri Venkateswara College or Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies SSCBS?

S
SilentTrek Posted On : February 27th, 2026

Both colleges have their unique strengths, but I personally prefer Shaheed Sukhdev College for its focused approach on business studies. The Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) program here is rigorous, and the placement opportunities are quite impressive, with most students getting placed in top firms. The fees are reasonable too, around 14,700 in the first year.

However, the campus life can be a bit dull since it's an off-campus college, and I feel there should be more emphasis on cultural activities. Overall, if you're looking for a great ROI, SSCBS seems to stand out more.

What is it like to study in SSCBS?

R
ReasoningRanger Posted On : February 27th, 2026

Studying B.Sc (Hons.) Computer Science at SSCBS has its ups and downs. The curriculum is quite rigorous, and it aligns well with industry needs, giving us hands-on experience. The faculty is approachable, and many have experience in the corporate sector. The college offers decent internship opportunities, although I heard placements for B.Sc students can be quite limited to business roles.

The fees are reasonable, around ?26,000 per year, making it accessible. The campus life is okay, with various societies to join, but it's not as vibrant as some other DU colleges. Overall, I think the college prepares you well for the future, but there's definitely room for improvement in campus life.

How is life at SSCBS? I read many reviews that said that it was too boring and there is no campus life. Is it so?

Living at SSCBS feels like being on a thrilling amusement park ride, packed with excitement and fresh experiences. You have to juggle both academics and club activities. As soon as you walk through the college gates, the large white building gives off the vibe of a luxury hotel. Within a week, you'll realize that every moment counts because you're surrounded by smart peers, making the competition intense. Still, it's super exciting and keeps your creativity, innovation, and knowledge growing.

Any worries about not having an on-campus life quickly fade as you become part of the CBS community. It's actually great to have fewer students because it helps you form connections quickly with classmates, seniors, and even professors. They're friendly and ready to help you feel at ease while you learn.

One of the best parts of CBS is the societies. They're amazing places to learn, and they support and recognize all your talents. As long as you stay on top of your studies, there's no need to stress about academics.

People say the best things in life are meant to be experienced firsthand. You really need to be at CBS to enjoy what could be the most memorable three years of your life.

What are the pros and cons of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies?

E
EcosystemExpert Posted On : February 25th, 2026

Pros:

  • You can expect a good salary after graduation if you're an average or above-average student.
  • Being surrounded by peers who are engaged in extra activities like courses, competitions, projects, and internships can inspire you to do the same and help in your career and placements.

Cons:

  • There's not much geographical variety among students.
  • The high competition can sometimes make you feel down, even when you're doing well.
  • There are many student societies, but most don't offer practical experiences and exist just for the sake of it.
  • Not all rooms are equipped with air conditioning, nor is the canteen, and there's no regular water-cooling on each floor.
  • The canteen mainly serves junk food, which isn't very tasty, and there aren't many good food options nearby. The area around the college doesn't have many useful shops either.
  • The back corridors can be unpleasant due to a nearby sewer, which gives off a bad smell, making you think, "What a place this is."

P.S.: Please excuse any mistakes; I was in a rush while writing.

What have you learnt at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies?

P
PosturePilot Posted On : February 24th, 2026

Studying Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies has been quite a journey. The curriculum is quite thorough, and it covers everything from strategic management to financial analysis, which is essential for our future careers. The faculty is approachable and supportive, making learning enjoyable. I've also noticed that the placement cell works hard to connect us with top companies, and many students end up with excellent packages.

However, the campus life could be more lively, as it's a bit quieter being off-campus. Overall, I feel like I'm gaining valuable skills for my career!
