Both colleges have their pros and cons. KIIT is a private college with a beautiful infrastructure whereas, IIEST is the oldest government college for engineering in India with average infrastructure. KIIT has a NIRF ranking of 24 while IIEST stands at the position of 21 among Engineering colleges.

Admissions:

KIIT:

Students are admitted on the basis ofKIITEE and thosewith 300-350 marks under 4000 rank secure a seat. To be eligible, a student must have 60% in the board exams.However, if a student does not get CSE for their admission, they can choose another branch and score more than 8.5 CGPA to transfer into CSE after the first year.

IIEST Shibpur:

• A student gets admission based on the rank secured in JEE Main and then goes through JoSAA Counselling & CSAB Special Board.
• Campus wise, the rank cutoff for ECE in the Shibpur campus is till 9219. To be eligible, a student must have 10+2 with at least 45% (for general candidates) and with 30% marks in English.

Fees:

• The feefor CSE in KIIT is 4 times to the ECE of IIEST Shibpur.
• The one-year fees for a BTech student are 4 lacs/annum in KIIT and 1.5 lacs/annum in IIEST Shibpur.
• Students in KIIT get a scholarship of 10k in each semester if they are amongst the top three students of their branch.

Placements:

KIIT:

• KIIT offers placements depending upon your GPA, fluent English, and logical skills. If a student has more than 9 GPA and the above-mentioned skills, he/she secures a job with a minimum package of 5-8 LPA.
• In KIIT, over 195 recruiters offered jobs. The total number of offers was 4379, and 3156 got placed.
• Some of the top recruiters were Cognizant, Accenture, Colfax, and the highest package offered was 30 LPA.

IIEST SHIBPUR:

• The placement rates in IIEST Shibpur have shown a significant increase every year. 85.7% in 2017, 81.82% in 2018, and 72% in 2019.
• The total number of companies visited the campus was90. Some of them are Amazon, CoalIndia, Sankalp Semiconductors, etc.
• These companies made 462 offers, out of which 311 students got placed. The highest package to date is 39.12 LPA.

The comparison lies that IIEST Shibpur has a good value for money than KIIT. Although not many companies approach IIEST Shibpur in comparison to KIIT there stands a higher chance to get away with the highest package on skills and knowledge. Also, getting in is not as easy as JEE mains scoreshould be very high. But overall, IIEST Shibpur stands in a good place.

PEC Chandigarh ranks 68th among the top engineering colleges as per NIRF ranking 2020. It maintains a decent placement record of 80% and has been at the forefront of churning out software engineers with a high calibre. 

Chandigarh University ranks 84th among the top engineering colleges as per NIRF 2020 ranking. It provided 100% placements in 2019 by placing students in their dream companies.

• JEE Mains qualified candidates will get themselves spared from the entrance examination.

• Over 122 companies participated in the placement drive of Chandigarh University and recruited 2030 students. 
• The highest package offered to students was 35 LPA while the average package was 7.1 LPA.

PEC

• PEC maintains a healthy placement and many reputed companies like Microsoft, Google visit every year. 
• Approximately, 80% of the students get placed in top-notch MNCs every year. 
• The highest package offered to the students was 49 LPA whereas the average package was 9 LPA.
• More than 300 students were placed with 85 participating companies.

The top companies are Directi, Accenture, ZS Associates, Google, Deloitte, Microsoft, Philips, etc.

Facilities

• Chandigarh University promotes all kinds of sports and encourages students to participate in various types of sports activities. 
• The university has a total of 14 academic blocks and 14 libraries all together with over 120000 books.
• The central library of PEC has a collection of 1,19,830 books, research materials and other things. 
• PEC organizes a fest every year in November. 

PEC is the ideal and obvious choice than Chandigarh University for pursuing CSE. PEC provides highly qualified faculties with excellent placements. It is also a 100 years old college with a strong alumni base and provides top-notch cultures.

Both KIIT and Bharati Vidyapeeth is considered as the best colleges to pursue Computer Science due to the excellent consistency it has obtained with the placement rate and academics. The NIRF Ranking of Bharati Vidyapeeth is 38th, on the other hand, KIIT ranked at 44th.

• The total fee of CSE in KIIT is 12.91 lakhs.
• The basic eligibility is that the student must have passed the 10+2 examination with any recognized board and the admission will be based on JEE Main Rank.

Bharti Vidyapeeth:

• The total fee of CSE in Bharati Vidyapeeth is 4.48 lakhs.
• The student must have passed the 10+2 examination from any recognized board and the admission will be based on JEE Main Rank.

Placements:

Bharti Vidyapeeth:

• The placement in Bharati Vidyapeeth is very good for the CSE branch.
• Student can pursue their career in different sectors of IT like Software development & Testing, Database Management, Web Technology, etc.
• The major companies visiting the campus for recruitment include EY, Aricent, Amazone, TCS, etc with the average package is 9.50 lakhs.

KIIT

• The placement session for KIIT has been much better than other colleges.
• Various big MNCs and other companies visited the campus for mass recruitment in the CS branch.
• The major companies visiting the campus for recruitment include Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, etc with the average package is 6 lakhs.

World-class Faculty

• Nearly all faculty members have doctorates and are well experienced in their field and also most of the students having extensive teaching, and legal experience in globally renowned organizations & universities.
• Most of the faculty members contribute significantly to the nation's growth in the field of IT.

Hence, both the Universities are excellent regarding academics and placements. The CSE department of both the Universities conducts professional activities such as organizing workshops, seminars, and expert lectures to gain insight and impart awareness about the challenges in the IT industry.

However, considering all the aspects and the associated pros and cons, choice should be made.

NITs ranks after IITs in India and thus have great relevance in terms of both academics as well as placement.

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology has been positioned under the rank band of 151-200 among 906 engineering institutions across the country which also includes all IITs/IIITs/NITs.

Admissions:

NIT Delhi:

• B.Tech admission in NIT Delhi (CSE)is based on the merit scored in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. After declaring the entry exam results, the students can log in to the JoSAA website to apply for the counselling process.

• Last year, for the general category the cut off of JEE Main was opened at 3287 and closed at 6362.

MSIT:

• The admissions in MSIT (CSE) will only be based on the student's merit at JEE Mains Paper.

• By applying for an IPU CET Exam, B.Sc graduates may receive a lateral entry into B.Tech programmes.

• The tuition fee for NIT Delhi CSE is INR 5.16 lakhs for 4 years. The total fees in MAIT CSE for a span of 4 years is 4.47 lakhs.

Placements:

MSIT:

Maharaja Agrasen Technology Institute has a separate training and positioning cell.

• Some of the top companies that recruit applicant from CSE in MAIT are Accenture, LIBSYS, Infosys, Sapient, TCS, Deloitte, Hughes Systique, Cognizant, Tata Power DDL, Amazon, TASL, Samsung, ION Trading, Wipro, Deloitte, Newgen etc.

• The average CTC offered to the students of MSIT was 6 LPA.

NIT Delhi:

With a record of 95%, a total of 40 companies took part, and 150 job offers were made as the release of the placement records of 2019 in NIT Delhi reveals.

• The highest offered salary package was Rs 32 LPA, and the average salary package offered was Rs 7 LPA.

• Top recruitment companies that have visited the campus are Future First, Samsung, Mac Software, Paytm, Reliance, Akash Institute, Mu Sigma, Oracle FSS, PWC, Infosys and Wipro and they majorly recruit candidates who opt CSE.

CSE offered by both the colleges stands high in some of the other parameters, so it's entirely up to the applicant to which college to take admission in.
