Why is IMI Delhi not good for somebody with an experience of 2.5 years? I have got a PGDM offer from IMI Delhi and I was looking for honest opinions about the college.

I cannot agree with the claim that IMI Delhi is not good for someone who has an experience of more than two years. My friend told me that her batch in 2020 had an average work experience of 32 months.

Joining an elite B School is not enough. Once you have successfully joined the desired B School, you need to make constant efforts to remain at the top. Just getting admission is not enough. You need to work relentlessly and meet the standards of the institute.

Even if someone has an experience of more than 2 years, he cannot cut down his efforts to remain at the top. He needs to maintain his sincerity toward academics because there is tough competition. Giving your best is the key once you have been admitted to a good B School. Keep aside secondary factors like work experience and pay academics.

What are some reviews of Thadomal Shahani?

SS
Srikant Salvi Posted On : June 8th, 2021
B.E. Computer Engineering, Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (2017)

I have a few friends at the institute. Here are their two cents based on their experience. Have a look.

  • The course fee is quite high. A B.E degree costs around 2 lakhs.
  • The faculty is average, but you shouldn't rely on them too much.
  • Thadomal Shahani does not have a campus. The college is just a building.
  • The institute offers very good extracurricular activities and festivals.
  • The Thadomal Shahani canteen is not that good.
  • It has a good location since it is situated near Bandra.
  • It's one of the top 5 private engineering colleges in Mumbai.

Here are some recent statistics regarding the college.

Average CTC 3.5 LPA
Highest CTC 19.63 LPA

Hope this gives you an idea about the institute.

Is MBA in HRM a good option in terms of academics and placements from the new IIMS? I have heard that only IIM Ranchi is good for HRM.

SA
Shrishti Arora Posted On : January 19th, 2023
MBA aspirant

Many of the old and new IIMs do not place as much emphasis on HR jobs or electives as XLRI and TISS. If you took a few HR electives and graduated from an old IIM, you may still be able to secure a decent HR job. However, attending XLRI or TISS would likely be a more practical choice for someone interested in a career in HR. New IIMs, including IIM Ranchi and IIM Indore, which now offer PGP HRM programs, tend to have fewer top general management or consulting roles available and almost no great HR roles.

An MBA in HRM is generally considered most useful from XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, XIMB, and MDI. If you are considering an MBA in HR from IIM Raipur, Udaipur, Sambalpur, Jammu, Nagpur, Bodh Gaya, Trichy, or Vizag, it may not be the best decision.

What are the reviews for an executive diploma in digital marketing at IIM Calcutta?

AS
Aditya Shekhar Posted On : December 1st, 2022
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (Graduated 2020)

The following review is based on personal experience with my sister who got enrolled in the current batch.

The following points will surely change your mind regarding the executive diploma in digital marketing at IIM Calcutta:

  • Quality of the batch is extremely poor. It is more like a money making program than a knowledge imparting one.

  • The fee for this program is exceptionally high. The course is priced at 3,28,000 for just 6 months. Whereas digital marketing institutes offer better courses at fees as low as INR 5000.

  • The quality of the curriculum is below average. Rather than focusing on the main topic they are stuck to age old basic concepts of traditional marketing.

  • No placement assistance is there for this programme.

  • Lastly, this certification adds no value to your CV.

Don’t go for this program. The time and money are not worth investing in. Rather go for digital marketing institutes where industry experts will teach you better skills at low fees and less duration.

How is it like being at FMS Delhi? Would you trade your life with someone studying in top IIMs A B or C?

GY
Gaurav Yadav Posted On : January 10th, 2023
MBA in Marketing, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (Graduated 2002)

In comparison to the IIMs, FMS retains the advantages of small batch size and a fee structure that is relatively low. The small batch size simplifies placements significantly. With the exception of a few foreign consultancies, most of the top companies that visit the IIMs also visit FMS. Despite all of the university's bureaucracy, etc., there is a well-established alumni network that still ensures that things work out for the current batches.

Because of the small batch size, people are extremely competitive. This was in stark contrast to what you hear about the IIMs. Even though they have competition but they maintain some semblance of sanity due to the large batch. FMS can be difficult to manage at times, both in obvious behaviours and subtle actions by people you study with.

The culture at FMS is influenced by the culture of Delhi. In comparison, IIMs are unquestionably more cosmopolitan. Unless you have prior exposure, adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for people from very different cultures, such as the South or East. Otherwise, you'll have to learn to adjust the hard way. But it's still worth the effort. The people you meet in both locations are of the highest calibre. It is up to you to make the best of the situation.

Even if given the chance, there's no way one would like to trade places with the IIMs.

Can anyone provide reviews about PGPMX diploma from IIM Indore?

SD
Shruti Das Posted On : January 23rd, 2024
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Indore, (2020)

I completed my PGPMX diploma from IIM Indore a few years back. Here is my honest review of the course-

The curriculum is designed for working professionals with at least 5 years of experience. So it is highly practical in nature. No compromise has been made in terms of faculty. The same teachers at the main IIM Indore campus fly down to teach the PGPMX subjects.

The course is in line with present industry requirements, and the subjects are up to date. The batches are academically diverse, this will help you form valuable connections with people from different industries. The course encourages classroom discussions and allows room for a variety of perspectives. Guest lectures and sessions from industry experts are regularly held.

This is an amazing platform, and you can definitely consider PGPMX at IIM Indore.
