In what kind of research electives do AIIMS Delhi MBBS students participate at John Hopkins University?

VM
Vedant Mishra Posted On : June 1st, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

AIIMS Delhi MBBS students can participate in any research elective depending on their preferences and career goals. They are required to mail their CV to the concerned professor. If the professor is convinced of your caliber through your CV and has seats available, he will reach out for the same.

AIIMS UG students are able to secure an elective very easily thanks to the AIIMS tag attached to them. AIIMS is a medical college that enjoys extensive global recognition and professors almost blindly trust AIIMS students. Here are a few research electives my friends had opted for.

  • Surgery
  • Respiratory medicine
  • Gastroenterology
  • Pediatric Neurology
  • Ob-Gyn.
  • Pathology
  • Neurosurgery.

Professors of John Hopkins University warmly welcome AIIMS students for research in any department.

What are some mind-blowing facts about NIT Warangal?

RG
Ritik Ghose Posted On : August 17th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institutes of Technology (2020)

Here are some unique facts and experiences that students of NIT Warangal go through on a daily basis.

  • Girls are expected to be behind the hostel gates well before 10 pm.
  • The girls' hostel is very secure and almost gives off the vibes of a jail. They have to go through so many restrictions and their hostel life is very dull.
  • Students look forward to a delicious meal of Aloo Parathas that is served exclusively on Sundays.
  • Most students wake up late on weekends and end up missing breakfast.
  • The professors have this strange habit of teaching with closed fans so that they don't have to speak loudly and strain their vocal cords.
  • There is gender discrimination to a huge extent as boys are allowed to roam around freely any time of the day or night while girls have restrictions.

These were some common experiences shared by my friends at NIT Warangal that I thought should be brought to light.

Do you have any regrets on choosing AIIMS Rishikesh? My parents are not convinced with my decision to study there. Is there any negative aspect you have ever come across there?

AB

My brother was adamant about AIIMS Rishikesh and although our parents and relatives were against his decision he went for it. He had offers from KGMC, BHU, and AMU. They were worried that AIIMS Rishikesh had no reservations/quotas and did not consider it at par with the AIIMS legacy.

He, however, was very confident about his decision and the relentless arguments did not dissuade him from joining AIIMS Rishikesh. After spending a year or more at AIIMS Rishikesh he realized it was the best decision of his life. He had found a family away from home and was also attached to the institute.h

He claimed that it was the peaceful and serene ambiance that kept his spirits high even during the hardest of times. Thanks to the surreal experience he spent the most difficult years with great positivity.

Which is the most relaxed branch in BITS Pilani?

TA

My answer is only related to the BITS Pilani Goa campus as my knowledge is limited to the same. Here, the most relaxed and laid branch you will find is Mechanical.

The level of difficulty and workload of any branch depends on its lab sessions while the course difficulty is almost the same since BITS follows a relative grading system. Now, when it comes to mechanical, the lab sessions are pretty laid back. All you have to do is turn on the heater in the apparatus and just note down readings after every 10 minutes. Students spend this time gossiping and chilling around. Moreover, this is a group work and only one student is capable of doing such an easy task while others relax. Lab sessions of other branches are very hectic and often extended to 3-4 hours.

The Mechanical branch is good either way; if you are genuinely interested you will land a decent job in the core. If you are here just for chilling, you can relax and still get placed in some non-tech job.

Which is better Lucknow University or National Post Graduation College?

AD
Arnav Dasgupta Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studied at National PG College,Lucknow (2018)

Whether you should choose Lucknow University or National Postgraduate College, depends on your priorities.

If you only want to focus on your studies then you can opt for National PG College. But if you want to do your studies as well as a part-time job or want to pursue some professional courses like C.A, C.S, then you should go for Lucknow University.

At National PG college you will need to have at least 75% attendance. Whereas, LU doesn’t have such attendance rule. You can easily give your papers.

Some of the advantages of joining National PG college are that it is disciplined, the faculties are great, and they follow their own syllabus. While LU offers a huge campus, it also offers more subject combinations for its courses.

Both institutes have their advantages and disadvantages, so choose according to your convenience.

How does NIT Warangal compare to NIT Trichy?

DS
Divya Saraf Posted On : July 19th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

Both NIT Warangal and NIT Trichy are prestigious engineering colleges that lie below the old IITs but above the new ones. Comparing two NITs, however, is tricky as each NIT has its own strengths and weaknesses. So rather than making a direct comparison I will mention the leading aspects of both the institutes

NIT Trichy

  • The institute provided free unlimited high-speed WiFi.
  • A hospital within the campus that takes care of the medical needs of the students free of cost.
  • There are 22 boys' hostels in all and every floor has a TT room and a TV room with AC.
  • A large number of canteens serving a variety of food run throughout the day and some even past midnight.
  • The hostel rooms are huge enough to seat 2 people and both students are allotted individual furniture
  • Students are given permission to bring their own electrical appliances.

NIT Warangal

  • NIT Warangal's internet facilities are somewhat poor and students are not allowed to bring routers.
  • An ambulance and a hospital within campus offer free-of-cost services to the students
  • NIT Warangal hostels are one of the best in the country. The first-year students are allotted double occupancy rooms while second-year students are allotted triple occupancy rooms and single occupancy rooms for the rest of the year.
  • NIT Warangal has mostly South Indian students so is a bit lacking in the diversity aspect.

Now let’s address the elephant in the room, the placements without which the comparison would be meaningless.

Particulars

NIT Trichy

NIT Warangal

No. of Companies Visited

43

268

Students placed

81+

1400

Highest Package

INR 40 LPA

INR 88 LPA

Top Recruiters

HCL, Godrej, Wipro, Google, Adani

Adobe Ltd, Jio, Amazon, Microsoft

Based on the above table, NIT Warangal seems to have better placements. I will leave the rest for you to decide!

Does everyone pass easily at DU?

RY
Raja Yayati Yadav Posted On : October 12th, 2022
b.com hons from University of Delhi

Passing at DU is contingent on the following factors:

1. Determining your course of action. It is not as simple for honors courses such as B. Com (Hons.), Economics (Hons.), and so on.

2. The student's mental capacity.

3. The student's academic focus and comprehension of subjects chosen by the student.

It would not be incorrect to say that passing the graduation level exams at Delhi University is relatively easy, but passing the postgraduate level exams is not as simple as passing the lower level exams. Yes, if you study diligently for a month before the exams, you will easily pass.
