There are almost 20 faculties here in the Centre for Nanosciences. All of them are well known scientists, who have interdisciplinary interests and ideas. Its great to work with them. The projects(final year graduation and post-graduation) are directly under the faculties. The labs are very neat, have good and updated technologies and latest equipment. Even if you have zero knowledge, its a good place to learn things from scratch. The exams are held twice a year, in May and December. The course work has monthly assessments, assignments and seminars.
The faculty members are experienced and technically strong. Most teachers are friendly, approachable and helpful for academics, projects and research work. The faculty student ratio is good since Mtech batches are small , so students got better interactions with professors. Some faculty members are very supportive and teachers explain concepts with practical examples are usually liked by students. However, a few faculty members are very theory oriented and strict im evaluation, which some students may not prefer. The course curriculum is relevant and covers subjects like industrial automation, process control, embedded systems, signal processing and research oriented topics. Labs, seminars, project works , and a final year thesis are also included. The exam system is moderately difficult and includes internal exams , assignments, seminars, and end semester university exams. Marks arr divided between internal assessments and external marks. Students who attend classes regularly and study consistently can clear exams and failure rate is generally low in Mtech batches
Lot of teachers are nice like surya Prakash pati, Aishwarya, Shikha, dhanush. But not all..sometimes I feel there are teachers who doesn't even know about the subject or are just there to get some PR from students and asking students to like their profiles to increase the engagement in linked in. It is not very pleasant experience in that case.
Faculty to Student Ratio is best in the country. It is around 7 t8 students per professor. All the professors are very open for discussions and doubt solvong. Faculties also provides projects to the students for research experience. Mainly there are 2 exams in a semester Mid term and End semester. Difficulty is moderate to hard. Apart from these professors also take class test as internal assessment
Each faculties holds a doctorate degree. They are very approachable. They help us to improve our skills also In our psychology department there are several skill enhancing programs like visiting field, taking classes to ug students etc. They are not providing the exact notes . They ask us to refer books and prepare notes. Also we have to take lots of seminars that's frustrating. But actually it makes us more efficient .
The course is ofcourse a hefty course but the faculties and seniors are super helpful. The faculty students ratio is perfect , every student gets a mentor. There will be 4 internal exams in the first year where you have to score 50 percentage to qualify for writing university exams
For the BSc programmes, the ratio of the faculty to students was almost equal in each batch for middle-tier colleges under the university, as the students are after professional courses. But for the top tier, some remained the same as in the previous years, but some didn't. The teachers are the best, even for the average student like me. They will be willing to help you prepare for your upcoming entrance shouldn't be their concern. They are the best in only teaching and supporting, but when there are any art programs or fests, we have to take extra time for the fests, as we already have classes starting from morning to evening, with other special classes even on second Saturdays. And to talk about the exams in almost all the semesters, they are good. We could even get pass marks just by studying previous year's question papers. But some semester exams were like we couldn't imagine the intensity of the exams that have been given to me till now. The syllabus is almost like going towards infinity, as we are only having almost a 3-month gap between each exam.
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:17. I can't name one, Most faculty members are knowledgeable and approachable, though teaching quality varies. Each semester has 1 mid-sem and 1 end-sem, plus assignments ,projects and labs (for continuous evaluation).Typical marking will be 25 - 30% for mid sem , 50% for end sem and 20 -25% internal assessment. Exams are moderately difficult, and a small % of students may fail challenging subjects , but they subsequent exams which will help them to clear the subject within the same semester.
