First, when it comes to choosing between the two colleges, I would recommend IIT Delhi for Electrical Engineering over IIT Kharagpur. Here’s why:

• 1) If you check the QS rankings for the Electrical Engineering department, IIT Delhi has an advantage.
• 2) The location of IIT Delhi gives it an edge. It’s in the heart of the city, while Kharagpur feels more isolated. Plus, Delhi offers access to various training institutes for future pursuits like MBA or IAS, which might not be as readily available in Kharagpur.
• 3) In terms of the study atmosphere, there might be fewer distractions in Kharagpur. However, I believe that if someone is truly dedicated, they can focus anywhere. The faculty in the Electrical department at IIT Delhi is quite good, but I can’t comment on the faculty at IIT Kharagpur.

IIT Delhi for B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering offers a solid faculty-student ratio and a vibrant campus life with regular fests, while IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering boasts a strong emphasis on cutting-edge technology and competitive placements beginning in the 3rd year. The curriculum at IIT Delhi is considered a bit more rigorous, whereas IIT Kharagpur appears to provide a more balanced academic environment with high internship stipends from top tech companies. Personally, I'd lean towards IIT Kharagpur for Computer Science Engineering if you're aiming for tech giants and a more relaxed academic pace, but if you're interested in industrial processes and a more traditional engineering path, IIT Delhi could be the right fit.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a strong ROI due to high placement rates and lucrative internships from top firms like Amazon and Google, despite its higher fees of around 20 lakhs. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Agricultural and Food Engineering plus M.Tech in Farm Machinery and Power might have lower immediate placement prospects since agriculture tech is a niche field, though it can be promising with the right specialization.

If you're looking for a solid financial choice, IIT Delhi is the smarter option for its better salary packages and broader industry connections. However, if you're passionate about agriculture and its tech applications, IIT Kharagpur could be a unique path worth considering.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Power and Automation) offers outstanding placement opportunities with an average package of around 15 lakhs and the highest reaching 3-4 crores, while approximately 70% of students get jobs. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Manufacturing Science and Engineering has a slightly higher average package of 20-25 lakhs and an impressive 80% placement rate, with the highest package around 2-3 crores. Both colleges provide solid internship opportunities, but IIT Delhi's potential for high-paying internships can be a significant advantage. If you're aiming for higher immediate packages and a robust tech environment, IIT Delhi might be your best bet, while IIT Kharagpur is great if you're leaning towards manufacturing and want slightly better placement statistics.

In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering might provide a better return on investment due to its relatively lower fees and good placement opportunities in emerging fields. While IIT Delhi is renowned, the financial burden might outweigh the benefits unless you’re certain about pursuing a career in electrical engineering. If you have a strong inclination towards electrical circuits and can manage the costs, go for IIT Delhi; otherwise, consider IIT Kharagpur for a more balanced financial decision with promising prospects in biotechnology.

IIT Delhi for B.Tech in Electrical Engineering might be a better financial choice compared to IIT Kharagpur's Mining Engineering. The fees at IIT Delhi are relatively high but the return on investment is promising, with 88% placement rates and opportunities from top tech companies like Google and Samsung. In contrast, while IIT Kharagpur has a decent student-faculty ratio and a solid curriculum, its teaching quality appears to be subpar and the opportunities in Mining Engineering may not offer comparable salaries or job prospects. If you’re aiming for a lucrative tech career and can manage the higher fees, IIT Delhi is the smarter pick; however, if you're passionate about mining and seek a unique niche, IIT Kharagpur could be worth considering.

IIT Delhi’s B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering offers a promising future, especially with the increasing demand for biotech professionals globally, but it seems to have a more challenging placement scenario as many students still seek tech roles. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering has a stronger track record for placements and higher average packages, making it a more secure option for those aiming for immediate job opportunities right after graduation in 2026. So, if you're looking for a well-established path with better job prospects, IIT Kharagpur is the way to go, while IIT Delhi might suit those interested in biotech's evolving landscape and are willing to navigate a tougher placement process.

The decision here really hinges on your interests, location preferences, and career goals.

• Placement-wise: IIT KGP Electrical Engineering is a strong choice. There are numerous core jobs available, along with opportunities in CS, consulting, and finance. The growth potential is significant if you choose this path.
• Hard Work: Remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch. You need to put in the effort to seize these opportunities. If you're not ready to study hard after getting into IIT, those opportunities won't mean much.
• Passion for Chemical Engineering: If you have a genuine interest in chemical engineering, then IIT Delhi's program makes more sense. The placements for chemical students are excellent, but again, hard work is essential here too.
• Future Plans: If you're considering entrepreneurship, UPSC CSE, CAT, etc., IIT Delhi could be the way to go.
