What are the fees for IPM IIM Indore, including hostel stay charges and food?

SG
Shreya Gayin Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA at IIM Indore (2018)

I think I can give you an estimate of the fee as one of my close friends is an alumnus of IIM Indore. The total expenses you would have to bear for a course period of three years is about INR 12,00,000.

In contrast, the tentative expenses for the 4th and 5th-year is around INR 13,00,000. Currently. For the 4th and 5th year, mess facilities are optional depending upon whether or not you want to use them.

Is the IIM Indore entrance very difficult to crack?

AR
Aanshika Rani Posted On : January 3rd, 2023
PGPM from Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2022)

The level of difficulty of any test or exam depends on your intelligence, IQ, English speaking and writing skills, Mathematics, and logical reasoning. The aptitude test comprises questions based on similar topics. The difficulty varies from individual to individual. For instance, you might be able to ace the aptitude test but falter during the interview ruining your chance of admission.

My brother was able to crack the Aptitude test as he had been preparing for JEE and the level of Math and English was way below what he had prepared.

The interview is the trickiest part. They can literally ask you anything from the structure of the Indian Government to the weather in your hometown. Most of the questions can be solved with luck and logic. They might also ask you what you have studied so far and what you haven’t. You can never be fully prepared for the interview. Rather than your knowledge they asses your confidence and other soft skills during the interviews.

Which college is better, IIM Indore (Mumbai campus) or Welingkar?

RP
Riya Padnekar Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA at IIM Ahmedabad (2022)

I have friends from both IIM Indore (Mumbai campus) and Welingkar, and here are some facts about the institutes based on the conversations I had with them.

  • Brand Name: When particularly considering the brand value of either institute, IIM Indore (the Navi Mumbai campus) is several steps ahead of Welingkar.
  • Rankings: IIM Indore has rankings and can be considered better, as compared to Welingkar.
  • Infrastructure-wise: The infrastructure of Welingkar is comparably better than IIM Indore as of now. However, the infrastructure of an institute should not alone be the deciding point of whether or not it is worthy.
  • Quality of Students: The quality of students is comparatively better at IIM Indore, which clearly translates to students performing reasonably better in competitive exams like CAT and other relevant ones.
  • Placements: The only downside, of IIM Indore (Navi Mumbai campus), is its placements. Since students from this campus compete against IIM Indore students during the final placement session, their chances of being recruited get slightly deducted. Provided the circumstances, Welingkar can be possibly seen as a better option. According to the recent highlights the average CTC offered at IIM Indore (Mumbai) campus is around 12 LPA, while the average CTC for Welingkar is around 8 LPA.
  • Locational Advantage: In terms of the location, Welingkar is ahead since it is located in the Matunga/Dadar area. It is in close proximity to the business hub of the city
  • Fee Structure: Considering the program fees, the immediate ROI of Welingkar will be supposedly higher than what it is in IIM Indore (Navi Mumbai campus). Welingkar costs almost 10 - 11 Lacs, while IIM Indore (Navi Mumbai campus) will comparably cost around 16 - 17 Lacs.

Even though both institutes are doing their best on the field, IIM Indore will comparably reap better benefits in the long run.

Do IIM Indore and other IIMs (except IIM-A) place the students overseas?

AB
Astha Basu Posted On : August 24th, 2021
M.B.A. from Indian Institute of Management Indore (2018)

As per current requirements, the industrial market unarguably requires MBA in many sectors. Each sector finds it necessary to include Operation, Marketing, Finance, etc.

  • If we shift focus to look at the requirements for managers in any country, for instance, the USA, then they definitely produce more than one bunch of managers.
  • In that case, their business market does not possibly require outsourcing candidates from nations other than the USA itself.
  • That is one of the major reasons why students often opt for pursuing an M.S rather than an MBA in the USA, and other similar countries.
  • There is a different bunch of students who assert that IIMs generally place students in business arenas situated overseas.
  • But, when comparing the ratio, the number of placements located abroad is reasonably much lower than anticipated.
  • Comparing the general domestic placements, the international ones are quite less, even in IIMs situated in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

In any case, the old IIMs are still somewhere capable of providing overseas placement offers, as per industrial needs. Comparably, the nascent IIMs that are still on their way of development do not usually make provision of foreign placement offers.

Who are some of the best and worst professors (past and present) at IIM Indore?

SM
Sourav Mukherjee Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2014)

IIM Indore is among one of the management hubs in India. As some of my friends studied at IIM Indore, and as per his review, the best professors at that time were Mr. KS Ramesh for FMCG Marketing, Mr. Rajesh Srivastav for Brand Management, and Mr. Ganesh for Economics.

  • KS Ramesh held a very senior position at CavinKare and Reckitt Benckiser before he transitioned to teaching.
  • He was extremely cooperative and helpful.
  • Also, Deepak Kapur who teaches Business Valuation, was also an alum of this institution.
  • My friends say that they have learnt more in this course than the others combined.
  • They both were visiting faculty members.
  • Professor Ganesh, Professor Natrajan and Professor Pani were the best among the permanent faculty members.

Overall, these professors of IIM Indore have vast industry experience and equip students with the strong fundamentals of the respective subjects. It is famous for the quality of education, which is at par with the leading B-schools in the world. Therefore, it has received accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA.

Any institute will help you with an arrangement of opportunities, may even get you a job in Finance or Management but it will be your decision, whether you'd want to pursue other interests or be in the job available.

The package offered by IPM would definitely be lower than the one offered by the Engineering+MBA (IIM) program. It will nevertheless give you entrepreneurial skills that can be used if you'd like to and create your own empire.

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology. But he has made his future. So don't worry, just be strategic and utilize your resources.

Which one will be better, getting a BBA at IIM Indore or at Symbiosis?

SS
Samita Saha Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Indore (2020)

Indian Institute of Management, Indore offers an Integrated Program in Management (IPM).

This is not just a general BBA program. It is an integrated program as the name already suggests. It has a very well-organized course curriculum. The level of exposure you will be getting at IIM Indore is much better than you can find at any other institute. Speaking of Symbiosis, it does not offer as much versatility and exposure as compared to IIM Indore, there will be huge differences in their course curriculum and teaching style.

The IPM program at IIM Indore has a 3-year BBA program and a 2-year MBA program. The first three years of the IPM program are being taught separately. The faculties are very knowledgeable and supportive. The remaining two years are merged with the flagship Post-graduation program.

So, IPM from IIM Indore is definitely better than a BBA from Symbiosis.

How do I crack IPM IIM Indore test in 3 days?

SK
Sheetal Kumari Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
MBA from Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2018)

My colleague wrote the IPMAT back in 2013. It was one of the safe options for her, as she was preparing for law. The exam was to be held within 2 days of a major law exam. You can easily prepare for the exam in 2-3 days.

You can go through the sample papers and previous years’ papers to understand the pattern. Management exams are all about functioning with common sense and the IPM entrance exam tests just that. You can prepare with ease simply by revising what you've prepared in the last 6 months.
