IIT Guwahati has not released the official 2024 placement report. According to other sources, around 712 students were placed till now. The highest package stood at INR 2.05 CPA and INR 1.20 CPA for international and domestic offers respectively. A total of 250 companies have visited the campus till now. 

An increase in companies visiting the campus was observed in 2024 indicating higher interest in hiring IIT Guwahati students. As the 2024 placements are still on, the number of students placed might match or surpass the 2023 number. 

For the academic year of 2023, IIT Guwahati recorded excellent placements with 246 companies visiting the campus. A total of 1112 students were placed with the overall placement percentage being 78.04%. 20 students also secured international offers and 166 PPOs were also accepted. The total number of students participating and getting placed was significantly more than the previous years. 

IIT Guwahati is known for its strong placement records. It attracts top recruiters from various industries. For the academic year 2023, a total of 246 companies visited the campus and 1112 students were placed. Students are exposed to interview training and preparation that improve their employability and results in such great numbers.

The average package for ECE stood at INR 26.21 LPA with the median package being INR 21.60 LPA. The highest recorded salary was INR 51.32 LPA. For the 2023 placements at IIT Guwahati, 92 ECE students registered for the campus drive and 84 were selected. The placement percentage was 91.30% for ECE for the academic year 2023. 

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is one of the popular disciplines at IIT Guwahati. The department encourages students to learn emerging technologies through an excellent academic environment. The average package for ECE graduates is typically competitive. It has a strong placement record with companies from different sectors recruiting passing students. 

SURGE is the main undergraduate internship program at the institute. It is open to students from IIT Kanpur and other institutes. They work on research projects dealing with the latest advancements under faculty members. 

It is an 8-week long program running from May 14 to July 14 for the 2024 session. Interested candidates have to apply online after meeting the eligibility criteria. Selected candidates have to pay the administrative charge fee to complete their application. 

Until now, the program has seen more participants every year. A total of 951 IIT Kanpur students and 878 non-IIT Kanpur students have participated in SURGE till now. There have also been 66 overseas students with 6 being from SAARC countries. IIT Kanpur also runs SARIP (Student Advanced Research Internship Program) for postgraduate students. 

As of 2023, the highest package stood at INR 56 LPA. The average and median packages stood at INR 16.98 LPA and INR 15.95 LPA. The total number of offers made in 2023 alone was 1154. There were also 11 international offers. 1082 students were placed in 2023. 

The placement session for 2024 has started and already more than 900 job offers have been made.

In the summer internships of 2023, the average stipend was INR 1.15 lakhs per month, while the highest stipend went up to INR 4.50 lakhs per month.

My sister opted for an online BS in Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras in 2023. According to her experience, the placements for online degrees by IITM are decent, but not top notch. The placement opportunities provided by the online degree team are not up to par with the prestige of IIT Madras. 

The placement opportunities for online students are equal to those offered by Tier 3 engineering colleges. It becomes clear during placements that recruiters don't treat an online degree the same as a regular degree from IIT Madras. 

But the curriculum and faculty for the online courses are both top notch. The lectures are delivered by IITM teachers and faculty members from other well-known IITs. 

So if you take the lectures with utmost sincerity, the online degree will prepare you well enough to get an off campus job at a good company. As far as college placements are concerned, you will get a decent job opportunity. 

The companies that came for the IIT Kharagpur summer internships 2024 are Accenture, Adobe, Huawei, Intel, Linkedin, Microsoft, Swiggy, and Intel, to name a few.

The highest stipend offered in MHRM summer internships 2024 is INR 2.12 Lakhs, while the average stipend is INR 1.15 Lakhs.

IIT Kharagpur does not offer Research Internships to outside students. 

But eight weeks of summer practical training (at the end of 3rd Year of B Tech / B.S, 4th Year of M Tech Dual Degree, 4th Year of 5 year Integrated MSc Course, 1st year of M.Tech) is a compulsory part of the curriculum at IIT Kharagpur, carrying 2/4 credits.
