No, I wouldn’t recommend you apply for a PGPX course at IIM A B or C if you have completed a part-time MBA from IIM Lucknow. The reason is the huge overlap of electives in almost all the programs offered at IIMs. Leaving a few courses most of which are repeated in all the programs be it part-time or full-time.
Towards the end of the course, you might end up spending a hefty fee and lots of time and yet not learning anything new. If anything you might just get placed at a better firm. But that too will be useless if you are unable to harness the acquired knowledge and skills in the open market. The question is if your job will be worth your year lost, your lost opportunities, and 25-30 lakhs of loan.
Still, if you want to pursue the course go for a top MBA course abroad. That might make a difference in your resume and job prospects.
What type of scholarship is available at IIM if any middle class student wants to get in to IIM Ahmedabad?
IIM Ahmedabad students can avail several scholarships and financial aids for their two year PGP/PGP-FABM.
Here is a list of some of these scholarships/financial aids-
- IIMA Special Need Based Scholarship- This scholarship is open to students with an annual family income below 15,00,000. To avail this scholarship, one has to submit proofs of- one’s family income, amount of educational loan taken, one’s past earnings, etc.
- Class of PGP 2001, Peri Viswanath Scholarship- This scholarships offers financial support to one student from PGP/PGP-FABM. The amount is 2 lakh per year, which totals to 4 lakhs over 2 years. It is a merit cum means scholarship, which is awarded to students with a good performance in 1st year (and a good past academic record), and a family income below 15,00,000. But this scholarship requires the beneficiary to contribute an equal (or more) amount for another PGP/PGP-FABM student in future.
- Aditya Birla Group Scholarships- The group awards three meritorious PGP 1 and PGP 2 students with 1,75,000 per year (for each student).
- Dunia Scholarships for scholastic excellence- Dunia Finance LLC, Dubai, UAE offers this merit scholarship to two students from PGP-1 and PGP-2 each. The scholarship amount is 1,00,000.

Which is a better choice, IIM A, IIM B, IIM C, JBIMS, or FMS Delhi, and why?
The choice of B Schools depends on your interests and priorities. The school you choose depends on

Some people consider placement statistics for making their decision but personally I find that a bit misleading. One other good way is to talk to the alumni of the schools and make a list of pros and cons. This will help you analyze the worth of each college and thereby make a sound decision.
