Can i take direct admission in this college for Bca course? And what's the hostel fee?

NT
Nivedita Trivedi Posted On : September 16th, 2023
Lives in Varanasi

JIS College of Engineering offers BCA at the UG level. Admission to BCA is solely based on merit so there is no direct admission policy here. Candidates need to participate in the counseling process conducted by MAKAUT. The merit list is based on marks scored by candidates in Class 12.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this program, candidates must have completed Class 12 with English and Computer Application/ Mathematics/ Informatics Practices/ Computer Science/ Statistics from a recognized board.

Hostel Fees: JIS College Of Engineering charges hostel fees of 5500/- per month which are payable Quarterly. Additionally, the one-time admission fee is INR. 5000. So, the total amount payable at the time of joining the hostel is INR 38000. The hostel fees for one semester are therefore 5500 X 6 months = INR. 33000 + Admission fee INR 5000.

Hope my answer clears your doubts.

What would be the better option between BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) Dual degree or IIIT Delhi ECE?

SM
Subhayu Mukherjee Posted On : May 28th, 2024
Studies at BITS Pilani

When it comes to ECE, I would always suggest you to choose BITS Pilani. It is the top private college in India for pursuing engineering. It is even better than some of the new IITS, NITS and IIITs. Though IIIT Delhi is also a good choice for pursuing ECE, according to me, BITS Pilani will always be a superior choice.

The course curriculum at BITS Pilani has been designed to impart both theoretical and practical knowledge to the students. The ECE department of BITS Pilani is one of the oldest and most reputed. The faculty is well experienced and helpful. They will guide you through your journey of four years and encourage you to pursue your passions. You will get to design new projects on your own which will give you confidence when you join the workforce. Top companies recruit students from our college and if you are hardworking, you’ll become one of them. All the best!

Which is better Calcutta university or Presidency university for a PG course in economics?

TG
Tiyasha Ghosh Posted On : June 24th, 2021
Studied at the University of Calcutta (2018)

Between Calcutta University and Presidency University for a PG, you should opt for Presidency University. Having studied in Calcutta University, I suggest you go for Presidency instead.

  • Calcutta University is known to provide low marks to students.
  • The teachers are part of the board or question setter which doesn't give good marks and a student has to study under them.
  • Apart from this, there are certain colleges that, to improve their grades, give good marks to the students.
  • Both of these cases are not good. Along with this, the marks get worse as the answer sheets are not checked by the college faculty and are instead checked by someone else.
  • The Presidency won over these things. A student scores good marks in Presidency.
  • The teachers are not that strict and they only check the answers sheets.
  • As it's only the college teachers who do the questions and answers work in the exam, once getting familiar with them will help a student score well.

Therefore, it's better to opt for Presidency University. Due to its better faculty, facilities and overall experience.

For a Master’s of Computer Applications (MCA), is NMIMS, Mumbai better or Christ University, Bangalore??

BG

Background does not matter much. It is a subjective question as it depends on many factors and the factors may or may not align with one’s goals and preferences. For MCA Christ has an edge over NMIMS. If you are okay with some strict rules and dress codes then for sure Christ is a better choice.

Should I do quantity surveying from nicmar? How is the scope of 1year courses such as QS at nicmar?

RJ
Rajit Jain Posted On : September 30th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Construction Management and Research (2015)

National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Hyderabad offers a well-structured course of Quantity Surveying and Contracts Management.

  • This course is available only in the Hyderabad branch of NICMAR and has a properly established faculty department for the same.
  • For those looking forward to learning contractual management from the initial stages like the bidding process to closing stages along with learning to calculate the quantities of the project, Quantity Surveying, and Contracts Management from the National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Hyderabad is a perfect choice.
  • However, what you achieve with it in the long term depends more on how you go about the learnings received during the course.
  • Usually, after graduating from NICMAR, you might secure the position of Cost engineer or Assistant Planning Manager depending on the hierarchy of the respective organizations.

The college offers ample opportunities in Quantity Surveying and Contracts Management, however, in the end, the choice depends completely on the feasibility and interest of the students.

What is the difference between a regular IGNOU course and a distance IGNOU course?

PP
Pratikshit Pandey Posted On : November 1st, 2022
studied at Management Development Institute, Gurgaon

One of my friends had a very bad experience in IGNOU. She applied for CCP which has 6 months of certification but the university allowed 2 years to complete it.

She wanted to complete the course within 6 months so she appeared on all the exams on time. She had to follow up with her professors for project work daily. After she did submit her project, they lost it. After 5-6 months the Delhi branch called to inform her that her project was not good enough. Apart from this episode, she shared more drawbacks she faced:

  • Out of 8-10 classes only 3 were conducted.

  • They took 6-7 months to inform her that the project wasn’t good.

  • She did not receive any books and had to get them personally by visiting the centre 4-5 times

  • They increased the fees suddenly in the second year

She scored 1st division in CCP but did not get the certificate for the same. So it’s not recommended for you to do PGDCA from IGNOU.
