Should I join IIT Gandhinagar CS or NIT Trichy CS??
IIT Gandhinagar CSE is certainly a better option than NIT Trichy CSE. Consider the following points in favor of my stance
- IIT Gandhinagar, despite being a new IIT, has made its mark in the IIT family. It stands right after IIT Hyderabad, IIT BHU, and IIT Indore.
- IITs being institutes of national importance receive more funding from the Central Government than NITs. This directly means better infrastructure, faculty, and research facilities.
- The city Gandhinagar is well developed than Trichy thus it attracts more recruiters and provides better opportunities.
- You will get the most coveted IIT tag that even has high global recognition.

What Muslim quota does Jamia Millia Islamia have?
Jamia Millia Islamia has an overall 50% Muslim quota. It comprises the following:
- 30% General Muslim quota
- 10% Muslim OBC and Scheduled Tribe quota
- 10% Muslim Women quota
- 3% seats in all programs shall be reserved for Physically Challenged persons.
- 5% seats in all programs shall be filled by the internal students of Jamia. (Students graduating from Jamia schools).
- 5% of seats are reserved for Kashmiri Migrants.

Has anyone ever been rejected by Amity University Noida?
Yes, one of my friends, who applied for one of the famous courses(BJMC) got rejected for Amity. But in the interview round she got a few answers wrong. Besides, she also had a gap of four years in her studies due to some medical issues.
The next day, she got informed through the website that she was not selected for her course in which she applied.
It is certainly not true that everyone gets admission in Amity very easily. A huge number of students apply to Amity University every year. So, it is evident that some of the applications will be rejected.
Some people I know secured marks that, without even an interview, would get them admission anywhere, because CBSE is obviously not frugal with respect to giving marks. On the other hand, the NIOS is not typically very generous. Moreover, if you have experienced a huge gap in your studies, then that will be an issue too.
Is DTU tier 1 or 2 or 3 college?
Yes, DTU is a Tier-1 college. The engineering institute has been ranked 29th position among the top engineering colleges in India by NIRF. This can be justified with the following reasons:
- Reputation: DTU has a strong reputation for engineering and technical education. This institute ranked 29th among the top engineering students of Delhi. DTU was ranked 2nd by Times Engineering Rankings 2021 and achieved 7th position in India Today’s Best Engineering Government Colleges survey for 2021.
- Flexible learning: Through initiatives like MOOC and SWAYAM, DTU also makes sure that students learn the fundamentals of education.
- Notable alumni: Vijay Shekar Sharma (founder of Paytm), Suhail Sameer (CEO of Bharatpe), and many more eminent personalities are notable alumni of this organization.
- Placement Opportunities: DTU has a proven track record of placing its graduates in prestigious companies both domestically and abroad. The maximum package available from DTU was INR 1.8 CPA, while the average package was INR 15.16 LPA.
Therefore, from the perspective of engineering and technology education in India, you can categorize DTU as a tier 1 college. However, it's crucial to remember that a college's perceived standing or tier might be arbitrary.
How is IIT BHU?
IIT BHU is located within the Banaras Hindu University campus and is an excellent place for academics that has a very good placement record. Here are some facts related to IIT BHU:
- The course curriculum at IIT BHU works to equip students with skills as per the current industry demands
- IIT BHU has various clubs- Robotics Club, Aeronautics Club, and others that conduct sessions frequently for a hands-on experience of different innovative projects
- The faculty at BHU is very supportive. A tie between Amazon and BHU for sponsored labs on campus has allowed students to be better exposed to current technologies and innovations
- For students who are interested in core domains, there are plenty of companies that visit the campus for core placements, including PSUs
- IT students get great placement opportunities as all big MNCs and fastest-growing startups visit the campus for placements
- IIT BHU’s location makes it desirable. It is located in the spiritual city of Varanasi
- IIT BHU is a very old institution and of which its infrastructure needs plenty of improvement. Also, the hostels are very congested with small rooms
To conclude, IIT BHU is a very old and well-established institution that offers very good placement opportunities and has a good academic curriculum (excellent as per some, decent as per others). However, the infrastructure is very old and needs significant improvement.
I am a first year student of IIT Kharagpur. I am not in any society. I have a bad CGPA. Is there anything I can do?
This is a common problem among freshers at IIT Kharagpur. Their CGPA is initially very low and they fail to become a part of any society. While this certainly is a crucial issue, it can be addressed so you don’t have to worry too much and demotivate yourself. Here are 3 simple ways to overcome this problem
- Academics: Before anything comes academics. So the first thing you should do to come out of such an issue is to improve your CGPA. This isn’t that difficult since one can easily score well by just studying 1-2 weeks prior to exams in IITs. Attend all classes and find the subject that is your strength and work on it.
- Focus on skills not resume: Shift the focus from building a sound resume to inculcating sound skills. For instance, the dramatics society will add to your speaking skills and confidence. The same can be achieved by just interacting more with people and attending inter-halls. One does not have to build their resume but their skill only. Hosting your department festival will provide you with managerial skills. So work on such activities and don’t run after societies.
- Take things lightly: Like Steve Jobs once said, “The best resumes never change the world.”, he literally proved it. Neither did he have a good GPA nor was he part of a good society, yet today he is among the richest and most successful people on Earth. Not being a part of society can be taken positively. One has a lot of free time on his hands and can invest the same in interesting things and learn new things.
So the key is to work on your academics, develop skills and take it easy.
How can I remove a backlog in AKTU? Is there a marked over result if I cleared it?
If you have a backlog in a semester, you need to fill out a carryover form and retake the examination for that subject with your juniors. For odd semester subjects, you need to appear in the next odd semester and for even semester subjects, you need to appear in the next even semester.
After you clear the backlog, AKTU will issue a new marksheet. The final result will show pass.
How much prize money can I get if I got AIR 1 in the NEET, AIIMS, and JIPMER?
honestly bro, NTA gives zero prize money for any rank — AIR 1 included. no cash from the government either. but here's where toppers actually make bank:
- coaching institutes: Allen, Aakash etc. will pay you lakhs to put your photo on their banners. Allen paid their 2022 topper Tanishka like Rs.21 lakhs at their victory event lol
- state govt awards: depends where you're from — UP, Rajasthan, MP etc. give Rs.25k to Rs.2 lakh to their state toppers. most people don't even know this exists
- Limca Book of Records: AIR 1 gets you an entry + their prize money
- brand deals: ed-tech apps and book publishers will literally pay for your testimonial or back-cover photo
also one thing nobody talks about — the coaching institute money comes with strings attached. they'll want you to claim you studied there even if you didn't. worth thinking about whether that's a deal you wanna make tbh. and ngl the real win is AIIMS Delhi charges like Rs.1,400/year total for MBBS fees. that's the actual prize
Does AIIMS Rishikesh have a uniform for undergraduates?
Everyone at AIIMS Rishikesh has to wear scrubs as their uniform.
When I was a student at AIIMS Rishikesh, this scrub system was not in place. But when I became an intern, scrub suits were introduced, and I had my own with my name on it.
The scrubs are color-coded according to one’s designation. Undergraduates wear gray scrubs, interns and JRs wear green scrubs, and faculty members wear pink scrubs. The Orderlies, support staff, nurses and doctors, all wear scrubs at AIIMS Rishikesh.
So the uniform for college hours is a gray scrub for MBBS students.
Should I choose VMMC over MAMC and UCMS just because of its PG benefits?
There are other advantages of choosing VMMC over the other two colleges, besides its internal PG quota.
First of all, Safdarjung hospital gets really good funding. In the last six years, it has built two new buildings (one Emergency and one Superspeciality). VMMC offers a decent college environment, just like other colleges. The internal PG quota is definitely a big advantage. To get internal medicine at MAMC, you’ll need around AIR 350. On the other hand, at VMMC, you’ll get it with AIR 9000.
This advantage might be diluted as more colleges get added to IPU. Regardless, you’ll be offered a great hospital, and a good college. Between MAMC and UCMS, the former has a locational advantage.
So, here is why you should choose VMMC over MAMC and UCMS.
