What is admission procedure to get admission into DTU and NSIT?
NSUT and DTU are prestigious engineering colleges of Delhi. To get admission into any of them, you will have to clear the JEE Mains exam with a good All India rank.
After obtaining your rank and learning about the cutoffs for the year, you’ll have to fill out the JAC Delhi form. It is made available around the same time as the announcement of JEE Advanced. You’ll get a month to fill out the form. In the form, you’ll have to fill out your choice of colleges in the order of preference.
You’ll get the best option according to your rank, from among the colleges/branches you select. Fill out this form with utmost care. You’ll be allotted your college on the day of JAC Delhi counseling. It is important to note that NSUT, DTU and IIITD reserve 85% of their seats for students who complete their +2 from Delhi NCT, and only 15% seats are made available for outsiders.

Which is better, CSD at IIITD, ICE at NSIT, EE at DTU or IT at MAIT?
If you are interested in Computer Science and want to pursue MS/Ph.D. from universities abroad, after graduation, IIITD CSD is the best option for you. IIITD CSD placements are also pretty good. During the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered was INR 16.56 LPA.
If you find Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering interesting and want to go for GATE/PSU/MTech, then choose the respective streams at DTU/NSIT. These branches aren’t usually open for most IT and coding-based jobs. For an MBA or a non-tech, career path, DTU or NSIT will be better as well.
Which is better for CS: the NSIT or DTU?
If you are looking for a better peer group, location, and placement opportunities, then NSIT CS will be a better option.
NSIT has a lower student intake. So, the competition is lower for placement and students get the required attention from faculties. For CS, NSIT placements are great. Each year, almost 80% of students get internships. NSIT CSE average package is around INR 12-15 LPA.
What should I choose, DTU engineering physics or Thapar University CS?
Having known some people studying in both these institutions, I can say that if you plan to get a job offer, go for CS at Thapar University. If not and are interested in doing research opt for Engineering Physics at DTU.
- Engineering Physics is a field which does not anymore provide a promising opportunity to its aspirants.
- If you go with this choice of branch you might get research opportunities after higher studies.
- Moreover, if you have prioritized DTU, keep in mind that the quality of education and academic career is reducing with every passing year.
- Few of the many branches at DTU are striving to keep their esteemed position with engineering physics not being one of them.
- Instead, CS at Thapar University would be an excellent option for building a path for your career.
- This branch is known for its exceptional academics and for the opportunities held out to the students.
- Although it is a batch of almost 570 students in CS you can certainly end up with a 5LPA and above package by the end of your 4th year.

There are many reputed companies that take part in their placement program and recruit CS graduates. These include Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Oracle, IBM, ZS Associates, Morgan Stanley and many more.
What should I prefer: NIT Jalandhar mechanical or DTU MAM?
Between NIT Jalandhar Mechanical Engineering and DTU MAM, the latter is the better option. This is because the placements for DTU mechanical are excellent. Some of the most reputed firms that visit the campus are Bajaj, Volvo, Daimler-Benz, Brahmos Aerospace, Technip, Schlumberger, Caterpillar, etc. Most of my friends from the same branch were able to secure amazing packages at top firms.
The learning process at DTU is more extensive. It has a lot of Mechanical Engineering teams which can help you know your branch better.
So choose DTU over NIT.
Which is better - mechanical at DTU or ECE at the NIT in Delhi?
ECE at NIT Delhi is not good. If you want to stay in Delhi then IIIT Delhi is a better alternative. Also, you can easily apply for CSE at other NITs or apply for other colleges such as PEC, IIIT, YMCA, etc.

Infrastructure:
- Since NIT Delhi has been recently established, it does not have its own campus. There are limited facilities available for students.
- The hostels are not good and have connectivity issues. They are located very far from the main campus.
- The facilities offered are incomparable with other colleges.
Placements:
- As NIT Delhi is a newly established institution, the placements offered are also not very enduring as compared to NITs and other colleges such as PEC Chandigarh or IIIT Delhi.
- IIIT Delhi has better placements than NIT Delhi as they have more experienced departments.
Coding Culture:
- The coding environment at NIT Delhi, in comparison with other colleges, is also not good.
- IIIT Delhi has better facilities for coding environment than in NIT Delhi.
Class Schedule:
- The class schedule is quite hectic. Students have to attend classes from 9:30 to 5:30 with a break of just an hour.
- Students waste a lot of time traveling as the hostels are located very far from college.
Faculty:
The faculty at NIT Delhi are not very skilled and they have less experience if compared with faculties of IIIT Delhi.
If you like CS and want to explore plenty of opportunities then you should apply at IIIT Delhi or other NITs. ECE at NIT Delhi is more substandard than CSE at NIT Delhi. Between the choices given, DTU Mechanical is a better option than ECE at NIT Delhi.
Which is better for ECE - MNNIT Allahabad or DTU?
MNNIT Allahabad is better for ECE. The department has a great faculty and the professors are helpful. The ECE department has many clubs and societies such as Robotics Club and Electronics Society. These clubs have various ongoing research projects. The faculties also take part actively in these projects.
Although the core job opportunities are not too encouraging, few companies do take part in the placements drive. In the past students got internship opportunities in companies such as Qualcomm, Samsung, Airtel, etc. Many IT companies also recruit ECE students. According to the recent highlights of MNNIT Allahabad placements, the highest CTC offered to ECE students is around INR 51 LPA.
Should I take DTU ECE or MNNIT Allahabad CSE as a DASA student?
Firstly, you need to understand what your priority is before choosing any one of them. In short, if you are very branch-specific and want CSE as your forte then go for MNNIT Allahabad without giving it a second thought. On the other hand, if you are looking for overall growth then choose DTU any day. Here’s why:
- DTU being situated in the capital city makes it easy to get numerous opportunities for placement and internships.
- Although academics are a priority, DTU offers better exposure to college life other than just academics. For example, ample extracurricular activities, fests, better social network, infrastructure, and facilities.
- Also, there is better exposure for MBA and MS at DTU, if you are interested in AI or robotics.
Overall, if you are not branch-specific and can make up your mind for ECE, then choose DTU. While, if CSE is your pool of interest then go for MNNIT Allahabad. MNNIT has a huge Alumni Network and CS curriculum is good too.
What should I choose between DTU/NSUT EE and IIIT Pune CS?
Pursuing CSE from IIIT Pune will be a better option between DTU/NSUT EE and IIIT Pune CS.
Most of the students who complete B.Tech from non-technical streams get jobs in the IT sector. So it is better that you choose the stream in which you want to make a career. If you want to make your career in the Tech field then CSE from IIIT Pune will be a good option provided you have not planned to pursue EE yet. You can also pursue B.Tech in EE as there are lots of opportunities in it.
DTU, NSUT, and IIIT Pune are good institutes and have good placement records. You will surely get to learn a lot in either of the institutes and have fun 4 years at university. What is better, NIT Surathkal civil or DTU mechanical?
NIT Surathkal is AICTE and UGC approved and is ranked 13th for engineering by NIRF 2020. The Civil Engineering department of NIT Surathkal offers undergraduate programs, post-graduate, and research programs. The department is also recognized as a QIP center for the training of faculties from other colleges. DTU is an Institute of National Importance and is a member of AIU.
