The University of Madras is doing a great job as it is providing a distance degree with an affordable fee structure. If you are a working individual and do not wish to quit your job, then joining distance MBA here will be the best option.

The courses and the study materials provided are good. You need to put effort in your studies to succeed. Self study is necessary. If you desire to learn more, you could attend the classes.

After completing the exams you will receive your Provisional certificate, within 4 months you will receive the completion certificate.

One of my friends studied at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). According to him, studying here was his best decision. It is one of the best Government medical colleges in India.

Infrastructure:

  • It is great being a government college.
  • The lecture halls are good and fully air conditioned.
  • It has 5 hospitals attached to it.
  • Hostels are a bit of a let down but they provide recreational facilities like TT rooms, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton hall and a reading room.
  • There is also a pool for swimming.
  • Gym facilities are also provided.

Academics:

  • The faculty here is highly experienced.
  • Some of the departments here are also known to be better than the AIIMS.

Clinics:

  • It has 5 hospitals associated with it.
  • Here due to lots of patients, you will encounter various cases. This will give you the appropriate amount of exposure.

College Life:

  • Seniors are very cooperative.
  • You will get lots of opportunities for personality development.
  • Life here can be a bit hectic but that will be helpful in the longer run.
  • The college has a very welcoming and accepting environment.
  • One of the best things about MAMC is its location. It is situated in the heart of the city.

You should also remember that the students of MAMC are the ones that make this college what it is today. The competitive nature and hectic schedule keeps you engaged and will eventually help you in the long run.

What is your review of Vasavi College of Engineering(Autonomous)?

RS
Riya Seth Posted On : August 18th, 2021
B.E Mechanical Engineering, Vasavi College of Engineering (2019)

The institute you decide to enroll in isn’t going to determine your growth. It rather depends upon what you choose to do. However, it is suggested that you join the institute based on your subject preference.

Here is a concise outlook of the institute:

  • The faculty of the institute is extremely proficient and knowledgeable.
  • Some professors hold Ph.D. degrees and are part of research in different departments.
  • It has a good library that comes with many books, journals, etc.
  • There are excellent placement opportunities for CS and IT students. However, it differs according to the market trends. The campus is visited by several core companies.
  • It also conducts sports, clubs, technical and cultural fests.
  • The labs are well equipped.

Disadvantages:

  • Security is very strict, you cannot go freely in and out of the campus.
  • The campus is small, including the sports grounds.
  • Hostel facilities are not up to the mark.
  • The interaction between juniors and seniors is very little.

Thus, make an informed decision. Go through as many reviews as possible before finalizing. As this will shape your career ahead.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : April 28th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

  • Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
  • Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
  • Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
  • Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
  • Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.

M.Tech Rubber Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (2020)

CIPET, a best-in-class institute that focuses on the studies of plastics and their products.

Admission -

  • Students who have completed Higher Secondary Education are eligible for admissions. The admission process is carried on by the state counseling process which is conducted by Anna University, Chennai. The seats are filled based on the engineering cut-off and the cut-off is based on the category of students.
  • The other way is very uncertain and entirely based on luck. The procedure involves the students who opt to not join the college after completion of counseling. This process is known as lapse seat filling. It is based on a first come first serve basis where students can directly walk-in for admission.
  • The students who have completed their diploma courses can directly opt for lateral entry which means that they can directly take admission in the second year.

Campus -

  • The campus of CIPET institute is not so vast.
  • The academic building consists of four floors with classrooms, a video conference hall, a placement cell, a computer lab, a seminar hall, an accounts section, and a cabin for professors.
  • There is a research center inside the campus named ARSTPS.

Fees -

The fees of the institute are fixed by the government. Though, some miscellaneous and hostel fees will be further added to the fees fixed by the government. It is estimated that the fees will be around Rs 1, 20,000 per year including hostel fees.

Quality of education -

  • The library is well equipped with books especially on polymers which can’t be found in general libraries.
  • The laboratories consist of all the facilities and students have the freedom to learn the working principles and procedures.
  • The questions in the exams are relatively easy and simple.
  • In the evening you can learn about design courses such as Pro E, CATIA, SOLID WORKS, MOULD FLOW, in the design center of CIPET.

Placements -

The placements are considered to be good. The placement is given only to the core companies.

  • Reliance Industries Ltd. offers the highest CTCs in placements.
  • The average CTC offered at the institute is around INR 15,000 to 20,000 per month.

  • A cultural fest named Cipofest is organized in the last two days of March which includes various non-technical and entertaining events.

What is your review of Lady Hardinge Medical College?

SP
Shreya Palit Posted On : October 22nd, 2021
Studies MBBS at AIIMS, 2022

One of my sisters is a part of Lady Hardinge College and her experience at the college has been amazing.

The college has a gigantic auditorium and administrative block, other than which there are no efficient places to talk about.

You will enjoy several outings during your stay at the college because the campus lacks a good food joint. You can also order food from nearby restaurants in Paharganj or Connaught Place. The food is nominally available in the food mess at the hostel which is not tasty.

The major downside is the infrastructure it has, as opposed to other institutes such as AIIMS, MAMC, or UCMS. The gymnasium at the college is not very well equipped. However, as per what my cousin states, it is a decent university when talking academically.
