Both academics and areas concerning research works need to improve. However, the present administration is trying to improve the situation.
KIIT has also witnessed an upward surge in placements. Numerous premier companies such as Microsoft, Dell, and Amazon are visiting the campus placements. Here are the placement highlights for 2021.

The non-academic part of the institute is quite commendable. There is the availability of many extra-curricular activities on campus.
In brief, KIIT is rather a good choice if you are not only looking for academics. It offers a good campus life with decent placements.
How is IIM Trichy?
Despite being a relatively new IIM, IIM Trichy has already established itself as one of the best among the newer IIMs. It currently ranks 18th in terms of average salary, according to the placement report and NIRF ranking. The institute is known for its strong placements and high return on investment, particularly in its flagship PGPM program.
In terms of facilities, IIM Trichy boasts a large campus spread across 175 acres, including student hostels, faculty residences, a library, recreational facilities, and executive residences. The institute is particularly strong in finance, with a renowned faculty base and an association with the CFA.
It also maintains a strong sense of community through events such as the annual sports meet, "Sangaram," which includes IIM Trichy, Bangalore, Kozhikode, and Vizag. The academic rigor at IIM Trichy provides students with a challenging and pressure-filled business school experience. The institute's students have consistently performed well in major business competitions such as Mahindra War Room and CFA-RC, and its alumni are employed at high levels in multinational companies such as Citi bank, Google, JPMC, Mahindra, KPMG, Dabur, and more, located in locations around the world including London, Dubai, San Francisco, Singapore, and Houston.
IIM Trichy also emphasizes the importance of corporate social responsibility and includes such projects in the curriculum. Based on all of these factors, it is expected that IIM Trichy will become the best among the newer IIMs in the near future.
Which one is better: DTU, NSIT or IIIT Delhi?
All the colleges you mentioned; NSIT, DTU, and IIIT Delhi are run by the NCT government and have similar opportunities and brand value. The choice of the institute here depends more on personal factors than the institute itself.
NSIT:
- NSIT is located in Dwarka.
- It functions under DU and offers a 4-year course for a bachelor of engineering.
- NSIT is an excellent choice for those who want to get IT-related branches like CSE, IT, and ECE.
- Most departments are at par with DTU departments
DTU:
- DTU is a highly regarded technical institute offering superior quality BTech courses
- This institute is well-known for core branches like CIVIL, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
- The most reputed branch of DTU is Mechanical Engineering, often compared to IIT Delhi Mechanical Engineering.
IIIT Delhi:
- IIIT Delhi is the perfect destination for programming lovers
- The CSE curriculum of IIIT Delhi is way better than that of DTU and NSIT.
So, it precisely depends on the kind of branch you want to get if it’s all about programming go for IIIT Delhi, if it’s CSE, IT, or ECE go for NSIT but if it’s core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, or civil engineering DTU is the best option.
How can I get admission in FTII?
First, you should make sure that you have what it takes to make it in the film industry. Joining FTII doesn’t guarantee a job. It doesn’t offer placement. So, you will have to seek job opportunities on your own. However, the alumni base is quite helpful.
At the entrance, there will be questions mostly from GK, Film History, Logical Aptitude, and design/writing/creative questions. Read up on Indian Film History. Read about the different ages and the people that made a mark on Indian Cinema. Even if you are not that interested in regional cinema, it’s important to know about them. At the entrance, they can ask about different parts of the history of Indian Cinema. You may also need to write your opinion. Also, watch a lot of films. Try to analyze them. Try to shoot a film, if you can. It will go a long way if you get through to the interview stage.

If a person has short attendance in the 1st semester in DU, what could be the consequences?

DU has a strict 75% attendance requirement across most programs:
- Below 75% attendance: you may be debarred from appearing in the semester-end examination — this is the most serious consequence. without exam appearance, you automatically fail the semester
- 67-74% attendance: some DU colleges allow condonation (excuse) for this range with valid reasons (medical certificate, family emergency etc.). application to the principal/head of department required
- Below 67%: generally no condonation — debarment from exam
the exact attendance condonation policy varies by college — some colleges are stricter than others. check with your specific college's attendance officer or administration. if your attendance is borderline, proactively approach your college with valid documentation immediately rather than waiting till exam time. colleges have internal procedures for attendance shortage claims that must be initiated well before exams.
How is the placement of M.Tech research at IISc Bangalore?
I have a few friends who pursued an M.Tech (Research) at IISc Bangalore. They told me that placement opportunities are good and at par with the M.Tech program.
At IISc Bangalore, for any Engineering branch where the placements are good, you will get equal opportunities in M.Tech and M.Tech (Research).
Make sure to go for an M.Tech (Research) only if have a passionate interest in your branch because you will be working on your research project. Though you will be spending an extra 0.5 to 1 year on your research project, the coursework load will be comparatively less on you.
You will also get enough time to spend on a particular course, so you can go for your Ph.D. in that area with a more informed mind.
Some Business, Finance, and IT firms may not allow M.Tech (Research) students to sit for the placement process. However, core companies make no such differentiation.
Therefore, the placement of M.Tech (Research) at IISc Bangalore is pretty decent and at par with M.Tech.
How is DoMS, IIT Madras for an MBA?
If you have other options like older IIMs or private B Schools such as MDI or SP Jain, I would recommend you to go for them instead of DoMS, IIT Madras. I am not saying MBA from DoMS is a bad idea, it’s just that B Schools are best for MBA.
MBA program offered at DoMS IIT Madras has the following pros and cons

- Small size, hence less competition during placements
- 100% placements
- Average salary was recorded at INR 16.66 LPA which is similar to that of many private B Schools
- IIT Madras campus offers the most dynamic campus life one could ask for providing great exposure
- IIT Madras has a great student exchange program and also pays the expenses unlike other B Schools
- You get to work with Engineering students on projects or startup incubators thus broadening the experience
Cons
- IIT Madras has a quarter semester for the MBA instead of the usual trimester which sometimes becomes very hectic.
- Being a technical Institute, its MBA program has less value than other courses offered at the Institute
Overall, DoMS offers the best experience and the MBA is a good choice considering the ROI, campus life, and exposure provided by IIT Madras.
How do I prepare for the entrance exam for Gujarat Forensic Sciences University?
My brother studied M.Phil in Forensic Psychology from Gujarat Forensic Sciences University. He took the online entrance exam for NFSU in 2020 during the first wave of Covid-19. Here are his tips on how to do well in the entrance exam.
- Be aware of the admission notification. Keep checking. Go through the eligibility criteria for your course. Make note of the last date of application and complete your application requisites before that.
- The syllabus changes each year. So, check it thoroughly. In 2020 the syllabus of Masters was General Psychology, English language, GK, and Research Methodology. In 2021, it is General Psychology, Research Methodology, and Statistics.
- Stick to the material available for study. Always begin with the fundamentals.
- Since there is no negative marking you can attempt all the questions to increase possibilities of selection.
- The interviewers need to see that you are focused and motivated. If you are going for a research-based program like M.Phil, P.hD., etc. then make sure you have ample research experience in hand like the dissertation of your Master's course.
The entrance is competitive and not difficult. You'll find only a few tricky questions in there. Most of the questions are of average difficulty. With strategic preparation, you can easily score well on the entrance test.
Why did you choose IIM Calcutta over IIM Ahmedabad ?
Students interested in Finance specialization choose IIM Calcutta over IIM Ahmedabad. IIMC is known as the finance campus of India. During IIM Calcutta placements 2021, around 17% of the placement offers were from the Finance domain. It offers more front-end core finance job profiles.
IIM Calcutta is among the only 108 business schools in the world to have triple accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS). Other reasons for preferring IIM C over IIM A can be ascribed to personal inclination and location.
How are the ECE placements at Thapar University?
In general, there are very limited core placement opportunities in ECE because of the limited scope in this field especially in India. ECE placements at Thapar University are no different. As a whole, ECE placements here are decent because mostly consultancies and management visits for recruitment. The only issue is that core jobs are very less.
But on the bright side, students of Thapar University can sit for placements in all branches thereby opening more gates of opportunities for them. This makes up for the lack of core jobs.
I asked a friend about the placements scenario of ECE and she shared a few pieces of information
- Around 60-65% of students get placed in the ECE department.
- The highest salary package offered is 30 LPA,
- The lowest salary package is 4 LPA,
- The average salary package is 6 LPA to 7 LPA.
- Top Recruiters are Amazon, WDC Gameskraft, McKinsey, JP Morgan, etc.
- Around 75% of students get internship offers in roles such as SDE, member of technical staff, and quant.
In all, ECE placements at Thapar University are average.
