You need to first decide which area holds your interest- Mechanical or Biotechnology. Do not go solely after the IIT tag.
NIT Rourkela Mechanical Engineering Department has an excellent faculty. There are a good number of very qualified professors.

Overall, Mechanical Engineering at NIT Rourkela will be a better choice from a placement perspective. The research scope and quality are good at NIT Rourkela. The infrastructure of NIT Rourkela is also impressive. You should go for Biotechnology at IIT Bhubaneswar only if you have a genuine interest in the field.
One of my close friends is a third-year undergraduate student in the Department of chemical engineering at IIT Kanpur. After considering all the other choices that his rank allows he finally chose Chemical Engineering.
A majority of IITians take non-core jobs because of their easy availability and much better packages. If you are one of them, then definitely go for Chemical instead of Mechanical. This is because Chemical Engineering has a lesser workload and rigor in comparison to Mechanical, which gives you a lot of time to prepare for non-core jobs. However, it’s important to note that this is applicable only if you are targeting non-core jobs in finance or coding.
But if you are planning to go for Civil Services preferably IES, it’s better to opt for mechanical because you cannot prepare for IES along with chemical engineering.
For core jobs, going for an old IIT like IIT Kanpur is the safest and best you can make Hyderabad doesn't even stand a chance in that case.
Between NIT Jalandhar Mechanical Engineering and DTU MAM, the latter is the better option. This is because the placements for DTU mechanical are excellent. Some of the most reputed firms that visit the campus are Bajaj, Volvo, Daimler-Benz, Brahmos Aerospace, Technip, Schlumberger, Caterpillar, etc. Most of my friends from the same branch were able to secure amazing packages at top firms.
The learning process at DTU is more extensive. It has a lot of Mechanical Engineering teams which can help you know your branch better.
So choose DTU over NIT.

The Production Engineering Department at MIT has been accredited with A5 Grade for 5 simultaneous years. On the other hand, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering is a private engineering college which is affiliated to Anna University. The college offers mainly engineering and technology degree programs.

ECE at NIT Delhi is not good. If you want to stay in Delhi then IIIT Delhi is a better alternative. Also, you can easily apply for CSE at other NITs or apply for other colleges such as PEC, IIIT, YMCA, etc.

Both Universities are good for mechanical engineering in terms of academics and placements. So, choose according to your convenience.
Both branches offer enough opportunities and scope in their respective fields. However, choosing one between these two will depend on your own preferences.
Placement-wise, Mechanical is slightly better than Civil at NIT Raipur. But that certainly does not mean that Civil students don’t get any kind of opportunities. One of my friends did his internship at Delhi Metro (DMRC) and that opened many doors of opportunities in both public and private sectors. As a civil engineer, you can contribute your services towards the nation's development along with public services.
Here is a slight comparison of placement statistics of these branches

In my opinion, Civil Engineering seems to be a better option than Mechanical. This is because there are huge vacancies in the public sector so the demand for civil engineers is slowly increasing. However, one must bear in mind that NIT Raipur has very few core companies coming for placements. Some of them that have visited in the past are L&T, SPCL, S K Samantha, Buildkraft, and PSUs like BPCL, HPCL, and CIL.
Ultimately, choose the branch that suits your inclinations and future prospects.
The Mechanical department is one of the oldest departments at IIEST Shibpur. Great offers are received by the department.
Most of the students score good ranks in GATE examination and qualify for MS abroad. The research facilities in this department are similar to that of ECE and EEE branches. ME and EEE get the same core placements every year.
The placement statistics of IIEST Shibpur in the Mechanical department is as follows:
| Eligible candidates | 64 |
| Selected Students | 42 |
| Total Recruiters | 42 |

The mechanical branch at IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 7th in all over India ranking. Students got placed in companies like COAL INDIA LIMITED (CIL), Tata Metaliks Ltd., Maruti Suzuki etc
