Is it worth pursuing PGDM (BDA) from GIM (their new course)?
Goa Institute of Management comes among the top 20 private colleges in India so almost all the courses offered are worth the fees you spend.
My friend is currently pursuing the PGDM Big Data Analytics course and she is glad she took the course.
- Objective: The primary objective of the course is to impart enough knowledge regarding different aspects of Management with a main emphasis on Data Analytics tools. The course teaches techniques to solve managerial problems. The proportion of Management and Analytics subjects overall is 40:60.

The ones I found most useful are-
- Consumer Behaviour by Prof. S. Ramesh Kumar- This is the best course according to me, irrespective of the subjects of your interest. This topic is important for every business in the world.
- Brand Management by Prof. YLR Moorthy
- General Commercial Knowledge by Prof. Shankar Subramoney- This course is all about the most essential laws and contractual agreements.
Apart from this, here are some professors whose style of teaching and depth of knowledge is unparalleled-

What are the best branches at IIT Kharagpur?
Generally speaking, the best branches at IIT Kharagpur are considered to be CSE and ME. The choice of a branch depends on many factors and is mostly a matter of personal preference rather than the demand of the branch. Irrespective of the branch you join, IIT provides the following to any IIT student
- Infrastructure
- Academic environment
- Course-structure
- Choice of subjects
- Geniuses in the form of peers
All these things that groom are given to an IITian irrespective of his branch and makes him worthy either of employment to any industry or a good candidate for higher studies in top foreign universities. This is mainly because of the IIT tag.
There are many instances where students from Agricultural & Food Engineering (the least demanded branch) were able to get admission to Robotics’ at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), or the MS program of the University of Rochester, New York to study Computational Linguistics.
Ultimately it’s not your branch that determines your worth but
- Your academic performance
- Knowledge and skills gained through productive activities done by faculty and peers
- Communication skills developed during your time at IIT.
These are much more important and come before your branch preference.
What is the course: electronics and computer science engineering at KIIT?
As a reflection of the sheep mentality, the majority of engineering aspirants can be seen running after CS or IT. However, I will suggest you also give preference to your interests first.
Electronics and Computer Science Engineering is a recently launched branch at KIIT and is actually great. Not many batches have passed out yet, but the branch seems promising like any other branch at KIIT.
- In the first year, the same foundation courses are taught that are common in all the branches. These include Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electronics, Engineering Mechanics, etc.
- From the second year, you will be intrigued by the ECE concepts. Out of the overall curriculum, approximately 55% weightage is given to electronics subjects and 45% weightage is given to CS subjects.
- From what I have heard, the subjects taught to ECE are easier than the subjects taught to CS and Electronics students individually.
In all, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering is a decent choice especially if you are interested in the field. However, if you are still aiming for CS, then you can opt for a branch change after one year. The cut-off for branch change is 8.5 CGPA but to get into CS you will need around 9.2+ and 8.9 or more for IT.
From placement point of view, which NIT is better among NIT Trichy, NIT warangal and NIT Karnataka Surathkal in M.Tech Course of Communication specialization?
This answer might be a little irrelevant, but I feel it will answer your queries. As some of my friends studied Advanced Communication Systems (ACS) at NIT Warangal, I can say that seeing your interest in Communication you must be from an ECE background. There are two more streams in NIT Warangal for ECE graduates, VLSI and Electronics Instrumentation (EI). VLSI should be your first choice. If you don’t get VLSI, opt for EI.
Let me share the reasons as to why I think so.
- EI is not core for ECE graduates.
- But if you want to get jobs in core ECE, VLSI or EI are better choices than ACS.
- However, ACS placements are improving.
- All the packages are above INR 15 LPA.
- Students are getting internships in Intel, Dell, Analog Devices, Synaptics, Xilinx, Synopsys, etc.
- Students get placed in C-Dot, Intel, Sandisk, Qualcomm, Xilinx, nVidia, Synopsys, etc.
- The subject ACS has no scope in the market.
- So, companies that come will want you to know VHDL and Verilog.
- These subjects are taught in both VLSI and EI, not in ACS.
So, even after getting poor grades, you have to study other subjects for placements, if you are in ACS. To conclude, if you want to join NIT Warangal, go with VLSI or EI.
How is IIIT Hyderabad's MSIT course for a non it student ? What sort of companies recruit from the MSIT course??
IIIT Hyderabad MSIT course is perfect for someone who has a flawed academic profile like a gap year or something. People like these have very limited opportunities so this course might uplift their chances of getting placed decently. However, since you specifically asked, this course is not a good option if you have an IT background. This is because the curriculum is repetitive and covered in a shorter duration. Also, if you are employed, it’s better to invest your efforts in improving your work experience than wasting time on this course.
The placements are decent and in fact, during the first phase, you might get into top IT giants like Amazon, Salesforce, American Express, etc. But if you fail to get placed in these then the only option left is to get into service sector-based companies.
So, this course is best suited for those who are looking for a means to upgrade their academic profile.
What are the minimum subjects to be taken for the BA programme of IGNOU?
In BA you have 96 credits in total. From which:

24 credits are of 3 compulsory courses of 8 credits each.

64 or 56 credits are of the courses of your choice.

8 or 16 credits are of application oriented courses.
You are allowed to complete only 32 credits every year. If you want minimum courses for your BA program you should choose all courses of 8 credits each. That will be 12 courses for 3 years, 4 courses per year.
But if you want your BA degree to be a BA major, then you must complete 48 credits in one specific subject (subject in which you want a BA major).
2 more important things to know are:

The theory exams of the 4 credit courses are of 50 marks in 2 hrs.

The theory exams of the 8 credit courses are of 100 marks in 3 hrs.
Note that these 48 credits must be completed in 3 years with minimum 16 credits per year in that specific subject.
Is IISC Bangalore good for cyber security courses? What are the courses it offers in cyber security?
Do not choose IISc Bangalore for Cyber Security courses if you wish to work in the industry and not go for research. IISc does not offer a specialized course that is customized for security professionals.
Instead of looking for Cyber Security courses at IISc Bangalore, you should go for the Amritapuri Campus of Amrita University. It is one of the best places in India for you to learn Cyber Security. My brother did his Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Systems and Networks from there.
You will learn practical implementation over there. All the courses are taught completely in English so you won’t suffer due to the language barrier.
Apart from the regular topics like Network Security, Wireless Security, Cryptography, and Digital Forensics, you will also learn topics outside of the curriculum, like Web Exploitation, Binary Exploitation, etc.
The placement scenario is decent and both private companies and government sectors offer decent packages to the students. Government officials recruit students and take them for live projects. You should choose Amrita University, Amritapuri Campus, and pursue a Masters’ in CyberSecurity from there to get a good start in this field. IISc Bangalore is not the right choice for a career in Cyber Security.
What do you know about an all-course M.Tech at IIT Hyderabad?
My friend has completed All-course MTech at IIT Hyderabad and claims that it has zero recognition outside IIT Hyderabad with a dearth of job opportunities. The course is a one-year program that does not require you to write a thesis/research. All you need to do is study courses in the classrooms. This is a very poor choice for those targeting a Ph.D. as this program isn’t known even at other IITs.
You will be given alien treatment and will end up wasting Lakhs on a useless degree. The majority of the IIT Hyderabad community is unaware of this course. The curriculum is poorly designed and very rigid. The world is intense, sparing you no time for extracurriculars. The majority of the first batch left the course within a few days.
The course is a complete waste of money and time so I am strongly against anyone joining it.
Which is better: CSE at JSS Noida or CSE at KIET Ghaziabad?
I think CSE at KIET Ghaziabad will be a better option. The institute has earned an "A+" grade of accreditation from NAAC, and the NBA has accredited its CSE program.
