Even though in today’s market CSE is a much more valued branch than Ceramic, I preferred the second option for myself. This is because IIT BHU is better than Thapar University in several aspects:

1. The ‘IIT’ tag carries a lot of global prestige. It is especially beneficial if you want to get selected in foreign universities/colleges for higher education.
2. IITs offer better research facilities and opportunities as compared to other institutions. As Institutes of National Importance, the IITs and NITs receive good funding from the Central Government for research purposes.
3. IIT BHU is a government institute, while Thapar is a private institute. Because of this, IIT BHU is much more affordable.  
4. IIT BHU has some of the best faculties in all its departments. Here are some well-known faculty members from the Ceramic Department of IIT BHU- Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Dubey (HOD), Prof. Vijay Kumar Singh (Associate Professor), Dr. Manas Ranjan. 
5. IIT BHU has a stronger, more extensive alumni network. This is because it was founded way back in 1919. 

Here is a comparison between IIT BHU’s Ceramic Engineering and Thapar’s CSE in terms of placements:

Ceramic Engineering at IIT BHU is a great option if you wish to study in a renowned university with good funding and top faculty. Even in terms of placements, IIT BHU has an edge over Thapar University. 

Thus, I would recommend you choose Ceramic Engineering at IIT BHU, especially if you have an interest in this field. 

First I need to point out that IIT Hyderabad does not offer any kind of MBA program.

• There are only 7 IITs that provide MBA programs.
• The IITs rank high in the MBA rankings as top B schools.
• IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madars and IIT Delhi accept students from non-engineering backgrounds to take admission in the MBA program.
• Only students from a science background, engineering and non-commerce background are offered admission.
