One of my friends studied at MAIT. According to him, it is one of the decent choices for pursuing your engineering degree. The admission in MAIT depends upon various factors like:

  • Delhi (Home State) or Outside Delhi student.
  • General/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ Defense Category/ Physically Handicapped/ J&K Migrants.
  • Branch and Shift of program.
  • Rank-wise cut-off for all the colleges in different branches of engineering belonging to all the above categories.

Cut-Off for MAIT in Shift-1

Branch

Delhi Region

Outside Delhi Region

CSE

Min: 723 & Max: 1300

Min: 277 & Max: 548

Cut-Off for MAIT in Shift-2

Branch

Delhi Region

Outside Delhi Region

CSE

Min: 1538 & Max: 1962

Min: 592 & Max: 707

At your rank 1770, there are rare chances to get admission in B.Tech CSE through MAIT. However, you can get CSE through the shift-2 cut-off if you belong to the Delhi region. There are other branches as well which accept 1770 rank in the shift-1.

Is there any possibility to get a seat in the CSE department in MAIT or MSIT (any shift), with an IPU-CET rank of 3,097 in the spot round?

If you want to pursue your master's just for the sake of a degree then it is very well and good, but if you are intending knowledge and exposure well many of my seniors recommend pursuing the masters from any of the globally recognized institutions such as IIT, NIT, and so on.

  • It's better to start working even though you earn a bit less. No education institute will provide you with real-time working experience.
  • Another better option is pursuing a certification course that is more valuable in the eyes of a recruiter.
  • You can spend the entire one year in a certification course rather than wasting two years pursuing a master's.

Can somebody give me more insight on the enterpreneurship development cell of MAIT Delhi?

VR
Vidisha Rautela Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
B.tech Electrical Engineering & Robotics, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2020)

There is an entrepreneurship development cell in MAIT Delhi. The office is located in the 4th block of the ECE Department.

  • The interested students can fill up the form and then you will be added to a Whatsapp group. All the information regarding the touring of the different expo, events will be updated in the group.
  • The institute arranges meetings with some guests. However, the guests are not so well known and with great success. Although sometimes, well-dignified guests do visit.
  • You will also be given chance to meet with some politicians and ministers.

However, there have been cases when students struggled to get their certificates as the officials are not very responsible at EDC. There are also some other societies at MAIT if you wish to join.

Can I get a CSE (1st shift) at MAIT/MSIT in a 1953 rank?

NS
Natasha Sinha Posted On : June 19th, 2021
Studied at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (2018)

Yes, with a rank of 1953 you can get a CSE seat in both MAIT and MSIT, in the first shift itself. The points below provide a brief overview of your chances to get a seat with the specified rank, along with the requirement of counseling.

  • In MAIT, there is a little less chance of getting a seat in the first shift. But, with such a rank you have a good enough chance of getting one at the spot counseling rounds.
  • If you get a seat in CSE in either of the two institutes, you should book it as soon as it is offered, even if it is in the evening shift.
  • There are several misconceptions about the second shift being of lesser value, which is not the actual case.
  • There are almost equal amounts of job opportunities. You should be patient until the spot counseling.
  • Meanwhile, you can also take admission in IT at either of the two institutes, which is a safe option.
  • For students from Delhi, there are good enough chances for getting the IT seat, but for students from other states, it is usually difficult in online counseling.

Therefore, there are good chances for you to get a CSE first shift seat in the spot counseling rounds.

Which is better IT at NIEC or EEE at MAIT?

SR
Swarup Roy Posted On : September 22nd, 2020
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering & Automation, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

MAIT is one of the top ten colleges in Delhi and is amongst the top 100 colleges in India for pursuing a BTech degree. Although NIEC holds no such ranking, the management and infrastructure of the college are at the same level as MAIT.

Admission Criteria:

There are three rounds for admission. For taking admission in these colleges, students must sit for the JEE Main examination and the prerequisite for admission is a minimum of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2.

NIEC- The IT department at NIEC has a total of 180 seats out of which 85% are reserved for Delhi candidates.

  • The college has a general cut-off of 14, 9262 for students residing in Delhi and 87727 for out-of-state students.

  • The cut-off for SC/ST/OBC is 585015.

MAIT- The EEE department at MAIT also has 180 seats out of which 85% are reserved for Delhi candidates.

  • The college has a general cut-off of 154753 for students residing in Delhi and 63215 for out-of-state students.

  • The cut-off for SC/ST/OBC for students in Delhi is 615460 and outside Delhi is 461051.

Placement Details:

NIEC-

The placement of the IT department at NIEC is better than the other core departments of the college.

  • The average salary offered is 2 LPA, while the highest is 6.5 LPA.

  • In 2020 more than 60% of the students got placed in companies like Infosys, Wipro, Samsung, Amazon.

  • Students of this department have to look for off-campus internships on their own as the college plays no role in providing internships.

MAIT- The placement of the EEE department at MAIT is average.

  • The average salary is 3.5 LPA and the highest salary is 12 LPA.

  • Very few companies come to recruit students from the EEE department, and mostly the IT and CSE departments are favored. Companies like Accenture, Infosys visit the campus placements.

  • Internships are not provided by the college, but students can contact its placement cell for guidance.

  • More than 47% of the students got placed in 2020 from EEE.

Both the colleges have excellent infrastructure with well-maintained classrooms, libraries, and updated laboratories. MAIT has additional housing and gym facilities which are not provided by NIEC. The course curriculums of IT and EEE departments at NIEC and MAIT are not updated, and there is less industry exposure. The tuition fee for IT at NIEC and EEE at MAIT for four years is 3.87 and 4.69 respectively.

Can CSE in MAIT get me to a bright future if I have an interest in programming?

AH
Ashika Heeradani Posted On : July 23rd, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2020)

Yes, a CSE from MAIT will get you to the bright future if you have an interest in programming but this can only happen if you are extremely passionate about programming.

  • You should never depend on the college completely. Get your basic concepts like data structures and algorithms completely clear.
  • You can also practice on various online programming platforms like hackerrank, code chef, interview bit, etc.
  • Do not ignore the other core subjects like DBMS, OS, and computer networks. It is also advisable for you to learn some developments in Web and in Android as well. This will provide you with amazing opportunities.
  • Eventually, even your branch of engineering doesn't matter as long as you are passionately driven towards programming The hard fact about programming is that if you are really good at it you will not face a problem in finding placements for yourself.
  • The best part about MAIT is that it does not have any harsh attendance criteria and you do not have to study a lot to gain good marks. It will help you to focus completely on coding and get high-paying jobs at Microsoft, Amazon, or any other dream company.

The only requirement is that you must be dedicated enough and persistent in your efforts. The highest package offered by MAIT for the CSE batch is 43 LPA by Microsoft (off campus) and 19 LPA from Amazon (on-campus).

Will I get CSC at MAIT with a rank of 2351 in IPUCET?

UC
Urvashi Chawla Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Graduated in 2020

You will definitely get the first shift in CSE at MAIT if you are from Delhi. However, you will not get the first shift from first counseling. If you are not a resident of Delhi, there are slim chances for you to get into MAIT. Even if you do end up getting admission to MAIT, you will probably get the second shift which I’ve heard from a friend of mine is just as good as the first shift.

According to the recent trends, the required cutoffs for MAIT for home students are from 15285 to 42615 and that from other states is 17952-27611.

What is your review of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology?

G
GhostlyGale Posted On : February 17th, 2026

Key points to keep in mind:

You're mostly on your own here. Even though it's a private college, the administration doesn't show much concern for the students. Some teachers are good, but most aren't very helpful until you're further along in your studies.

The first year feels pretty pointless. Teachers don't focus much on coding culture, so you'll learn that from your peers. The festivals and events are okay, not great, but they help you connect with seniors.

Scoring well in exams is tough, but getting good grades early on makes it easier later. I'm not clear on the placement cutoffs, but they might range from 70% to 80%.

The college doesn't offer internships, so you'll need to find them on platforms like Internshala. You won't see many seniors around; they rarely come to campus. Attendance is mainly a concern in the first year.

The campus is quite small, but that's not really an issue. You can walk around it in under five minutes.

Should I join Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology for CSE or some mediocre NITs with so called lower branches?

F
ForgottenFacade Posted On : February 17th, 2026

Opt for the mediocre NITs, even if the branches aren't top-tier. These NITs attract a lot of companies, offering you many opportunities to sit for their recruitment processes, provided you meet their criteria. Plus, if you dedicate yourself to learning coding over three years, there's a good chance you'll land a high-paying job with one of these companies.
