XLRI and CMC Ludhiana decided to jointly offer several management programs and collaborative research to address the future needs of healthcare professionals and elevate healthcare education and research.

New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur and CMC Ludhiana have collaborated and signed an MOU on September 07, 2023, that aims to introduce and offer several new innovative management programs and collaborative research. The groundbreaking decision was taken to meet the evolving needs of healthcare professionals.

XLRI is one of the top management institutions in India, alongside CMC being the first medical school in Asia for women. As pioneers in their respective fields and being ranked amongst the top private educational institutions in the country, the MOU is driven by a common mission to serve the greater good of the nation.

The MoU between CMC and XLRI was signed at a ceremony held in CMC Ludhiana. The ceremony was held in the presence of Fr. K.S. Casimir, Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR Campus, Dr. William Bhatti, Director of CMC Ludhiana Faculty, Dr. Allen Joseph, the Medical Superintendent at CMC Ludhiana, Dr. Samuel N J David, Associate Director of HR & Admin of CMC Vellore, Dr. Paramjyot Singh, Faculty, XLRI, and Dr. Santosh Sangem, Faculty, XLRI.

Fr. K.S. Casimir, Director of XLRI also spoke during the ceremony. He said “The collaboration with CMC Ludhiana is a significant step forward in our journey to contribute to India’s journey towards sustainable and inclusive growth that faces the challenge of creating affordable, accessible, equitable, high-quality healthcare services for all citizens”. He also added that they were “extremely excited to partner with CMC Ludhiana across academics and policy-driven research in our endeavor to help address the need for a significantly large number of professionals trained in cutting-edge management practices relevant to the Indian healthcare sector.”

Dr. William Bhatti, Director of CMC also added that it is their duty and the need of the hour to continuously sustain and contribute to the Healthcare Sector, Education, and Research. He justified the need to partner with XLRI and start professional Management and Training courses to elevate the Management of Hospitals and Health Systems.

The Associate Director of HR and Admin, Dr. Samuel N J David, at CMC Ludhiana, also shared valuable insights into the importance of modernizing the medical profession and the importance of professional management skills in healthcare institutions and education. He recognized the opportunity to bridge the gap between medical expertise and management skills through the collaboration between CMC and XLRI.

This MOU aims to launch the first set of its courses in March 2024. The collaboration marks a significant step toward uplifting healthcare education and research in India.
