UID Ahmedabad Admission 2026 Begins for UG and PG Courses; DAT on January 11

Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID), Ahmedabad, has opened admissions for its Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) design courses for the academic year 2026. The institute has announced that the UID Design Aptitude Test (UID DAT 2026 - Tier I) will be held online on January 11, 2026. To apply for the UG courses, candidates must have passed or be appearing for their Class 12 examination from a recognised board. For PG courses, applicants should hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

The selection will take place through a Two-Tier Evaluation Process. In the first stage, applicants will appear for the UID DAT 2026 (Tier I). Those who qualify will move on to Tier II, which includes a Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation. These rounds are designed to assess a student’s creative ability, problem-solving skills, and design thinking approach.

Key Summary

The evaluation process carries a total of 100 marks, distributed as follows:

• Tier I (Design Aptitude Test – Online): 40%

• Tier II (Situation Test – Offline): 30%

• Tier II (Portfolio Evaluation – Offline/Online): 30%
• In some cases, the Portfolio Evaluation (PE) is replaced with a Personal Interview (PI) of equal weightage.

UID Ahmedabad Admission 2026-27: Two-Tier Evaluation Process

The institute follows a Two-Tier Evaluation Process to select creative and talented candidates aspiring to build careers in design.

Step 1: Apply Online or Offline

Candidates can apply either online through the official website uid.edu.in or offline by submitting a physical application form.

Step 2: UID’s Two-Tier Evaluation

• Tier I – UID DAT 2026: Online exam on Sunday, January 11, 2026 (AI-proctored).

• Tier II – March/April 2026:
  • Ahmedabad Campus (Offline): Situation Test (ST) & Portfolio Evaluation (PE)

• NCR Campus (Online – Jan/Feb 2026): Portfolio Evaluation (PE) & Personal Interview (PI)
• NCR Campus (Offline – April 2026): Situation Test (ST) & Portfolio Evaluation (PE)

Step 3: Results Announcement

UID will announce results via email notifications to registered candidates after the completion of the evaluation rounds.

All general, Indian, NRI, and foreign applicants must clear the two-tier process and secure at least 50% aggregate marks in their last qualifying examination.
