NIT Meghalaya is inviting applications for its PhD programme for the January 2026 session. The last date to apply is December 11, 2025, and the written test and interviews are scheduled for January 20 and 21, 2026.

The PhD program is open for both full-time and sponsored (part-time) categories in various disciplines such as Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Management

NIT Meghalaya PhD Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).

Candidates with a B.E./B.Tech. and 75% marks or equivalent GPA, along with a valid GATE score, are also eligible.

Sponsored candidates from recognised organisations or industries may apply under the sponsored category. All candidates must clear the institute’s entrance exam and interview for final selection

NIT Meghalaya PhD Admission 2026 - How to Apply?

Applicants must first pay the application fee using State Bank Collect (SBI Collect).

Next, they need to fill out the online application form and submit it.

After submission, a printout of the application form along with all supporting documents must be sent by email via the Google Form link provided by the institute.
