The National Institute of Design (NID) will announce the B.Des Final Result on or before May 28, 2026. Candidates can view their results by logging into the official admissions portal at NID Admissions Portal using their credentials. After viewing results, candidates must complete document uploads and institute preference submission within the specified deadline.
The National Institute of Design's entire admission process involves multiple critical stages with strict deadlines. Candidates who miss any deadline will lose eligibility for subsequent rounds of seat allotment and cannot participate further in the admissions process.

How to Check for NID BDes Admission 2026 Result Once Out?
Candidates can access their final result by entering login credentials on the admissions website. After viewing the result, candidates proceed to upload required documents and modify their institute preferences if needed. The portal allows candidates to review and modify uploaded documents multiple times until the May 31 deadline.
The last submission of documents and institute preference after the deadline will be considered final. Candidates are solely responsible for checking the admissions website regularly for updates and ensuring timely submissions.
Institute Preference Submission Process
Candidates can review and modify their institute preferences multiple times until May 31, 2026 (midnight). The preferences submitted during application can be changed based on candidate choice and availability.
The final selection of institute preference after the deadline will be considered binding and cannot be modified. Candidates must carefully select their institute preferences in order of priority. The seat allotment in Round 1 will be based on:
- merit rank,
- available seats,
- category, and
- submitted institute preferences in order.
NID BDes Admission 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment
Based on submitted institute preferences, merit order, and available seats category-wise, shortlisted candidates will be provisionally allotted seats.
Seat Allotment Window
- Starts: 4 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2026
- Ends: Midnight on June 11, 2026
Candidates must confirm their allotted seat by paying the token amount within this window.
If allotted First-Choice Institute
Candidates can:
- accept, or
- decline the offer.
Declining a first-choice offer results in cancellation of seat allocation and exclusion from subsequent rounds.
If allotted Second/Third/Fourth/Fifth Choice Institute
Candidates can:
- accept, or
- decline.
Declining allows consideration for higher-choice institutes in Round 2 only.
Candidates belonging to the GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories must pay a token amount of INR 45,100/- through online mode along with applicable convenience charges for seat confirmation. Candidates applying under the Overseas category from the rest of the world are required to pay INR 1,22,661 plus applicable convenience charges. The paid token amount will be adjusted against the First Semester fee.
Candidates must complete the payment process by June 11, 2026 (midnight). Failure to pay within the deadline will lead to cancellation of the provisional seat allocation, and the seat will be allotted to the next qualifying candidate. In Round 2, candidates who fail to make the payment will not be reconsidered for the same seat but may still be considered for higher-choice institutes only.

It is the sole responsibility of candidates to check the admissions website regularly for updates on specified dates. All further communications from NID will be sent to the registered email ID provided during online application.
Obtaining a rank in the merit list, uploading documents, and submitting institute preference do NOT guarantee admission to the B.Des programme. Candidates must ensure all uploaded documents are: complete, correct, and valid.
Incomplete submissions will result in candidature cancellation. Candidates are advised to keep their: registered email ID, and login credentials. Secure and accessible throughout the admission process.
