New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has recently released a comprehensive report detailing its achievements over the past two years since the assumption of Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit as the Vice Chancellor.
According to the report, the JNU administration has fostered a positive and conducive academic environment. This has been achieved through the diligent coordination, streamlining, monitoring, and evaluation of academic development processes, reinforcing the institution's core functions.

The JNU report emphasises that domain expertise remains the primary criterion for various processes such as the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), recruitment, and backlog clearance. Notably, 143 CAS cases for faculty have been completed, leading to promotions.
Furthermore, 149 new JNU faculty members have been inducted through open recruitment. In a commendable step towards gender representation, as of February 1, 2024, 31 administrative positions within the university are held by women.

The university has also embarked on new academic initiatives, including ongoing efforts to establish Special Centres dedicated to Odia, Marathi, Gujarati, and Kannada languages. In a symbolic move, the new JNU logo was launched during the 50th court meeting on December 4, 2023, with the registration process already initiated.
The achievements extend to Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements of Cooperation (AoCs), with 32 active MoUs and 104 active AoCs recorded until January 2024. Beyond administrative accomplishments, notable strides have been made in fostering a safer and more inclusive campus environment.
Initiatives include the enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and gender insensitivity, the resumption of in-person classes after three years, the construction of a dedicated hostel for northeast students, and the expansion of healthcare specialists on campus, among other significant milestones.
