How to calculate score using JEE Main marking scheme?

Candidates can calculate their expected score using the official marking scheme. To make this easier, Collegedunia has created a JEE Main 2026 Score Calculator tool that helps students estimate their scores based on the official answer key.

Use the JEE Main 2026 Score Calculator by Collegedunia to quickly predict your score after matching responses with the final answer key.

The official marking scheme is as follows:

  • +4 marks for each correct answer
  • -1 mark for each incorrect answer
  • 0 marks for unanswered questions

The answer key also includes numerical value questions with correct answers. After calculating raw scores, candidates should note that final scores are determined using normalisation and percentile calculation, which may slightly change the final result.

Candidates will be able to download their scorecards using their login credentials, and the result will also indicate their eligibility for the next stage. Those who meet the cutoff will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, with the top 2.5 lakh candidates across all categories qualifying for the exam, which serves as the gateway to admission in IITs. Additionally, qualified candidates can participate in JoSAA counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.
