IIM Shillong and AIT Thailand Sign MoU to Promote Academic Exchange

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, IIM Shillong has joined hands with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand to foster collaboration and increase academic and cultural exchanges. Both institutes will focus on research, mutual support and academic excellence.

As a part of this collaboration, IIM Shillong and AIT Thailand will work together to develop Dual Master’s and Doctoral degree programs and will offer a Study-trek program at AIT for IIM Shillong students, faculty and student exchanges. Faculty members and researchers will also take part in joint research projects.

Additionally, the collaboration will include summer and winter programs and allow students to study regular degree programs at both institutes. IIM Shillong and AIT Thailand will share resources for academic excellence, such as library databases, journals, and online materials for the staff and students.

Informing about this initiative, Dr. D.P. Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, remarked, “This collaboration opens many avenues for our students and faculty. We are eager to see the benefits unfold.”

The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, and Prof. Nitin K. Tripathi, acting vice president for Academic Affairs at AIT as well as Prof. Naliniprabha Tripathy, Dean of External Relations, and Dr Teidorlang Lyngdoh, Chair of External Relations and other officials.

From AIT, Dr Roger Levermore, Vice President for Development and Dean of School of Management (SOM); Dr Sumana Shrestha, Director, International Affairs, Office of International and Public Affairs (OIPA); Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director, Public Affairs, OIPA, and Mr. Zia Islam, Executive Assistant to Dean & Coordinator, Dean’s Office, SOM attended the event.
