Gujarat University UG/PG Semester-2 Admission 2025-26 Seat Matrix Statistical Analysis

The Gujarat University Semester-2 Admission Seat Matrix highlights a total of 6,786 vacant seats across undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs after completion of the regular admission cycle. These vacancies are spread across 74 affiliated colleges and university departments, reflecting significant post-admission attrition.

At the undergraduate level, the highest number of vacant seats is reported in BSc programs (2,037 seats), followed by BCom (1,722 seats) and BA programs (1,095 seats). Professional courses also show notable vacancies, with 355 seats in BBA and 282 in BCA remaining unfilled. Integrated BSc–MSc programmes account for 86 seats, while smaller numbers are seen in BRS (25 seats). This distribution indicates comparatively lower demand in science and general degree programmes despite higher sanctioned intake.

At the postgraduate level, vacancies are led by MA program with 439 seats, followed by MCom (289 seats) and the MSW (198 seats). Science programmes together show substantial gaps, including 100 seats in MSc and 155 seats in other MSc streams, suggesting limited conversion from UG to PG within the same academic year. Professional law-related programmes report minimal vacancies, with only 3 seats in MLW.

Students admitted directly to the second semester will follow a changed study pattern. In the first year, they will complete Semester 2 first and then Semester 1. In the following years, they will similarly complete semesters in reverse order. Honours students will complete Semesters 8 and 7 in the fourth year.

Overall, the data confirms that biannual admissions are being used primarily to address systemic seat wastage, especially in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams, rather than niche or high-demand professional courses. Students can check the official Vacant Seat PDF for more information.
