IIT Guwahati releases GATE 2026 provisional answer key and response sheet on GOAPS portal for all papers.

GATE 2026 Answer Key Released

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released the GATE 2026 provisional answer key and response sheet on February 22, 2026, at the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for the exam on February 07, 08, 14 and 15, 2026 can now check their recorded responses through the GOAPS portal.

The answer key will help candidates calculate their probable scores before the result announcement and raise objections, if any, within the prescribed timeline.

IIT Guwahati has uploaded the candidate response sheet, master question paper, and provisional answer key for all subjects. The response sheet shows the answers marked by candidates during the examination.

With the release of the provisional key, candidates can now compare their answers and estimate their expected marks.

How to Download GATE 2026 Provisional Answer Key?

Candidates can follow these simple steps to download the answer key:

  1. Visit the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  2. Click on the “GOAPS Portal” link
  3. Enter your Enrollment ID and Password
  4. Select your respective paper
  5. Download the answer key PDF and response sheet

Make sure to carefully cross-check each response before calculating your score.

To check the GATE 2026 answer key and response sheet, candidates must log in to the GOAPS portal using their Enrollment ID and Password.

These credentials were generated during the registration process. Without these details, candidates will not be able to access their response sheet or download the provisional answer key.

Based on previous years’ trends and exam difficulty level, the expected qualifying cut-off marks for Mechanical Engineering (ME) are 36–38 for General, 32–34 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 24–26 for SC/ST/PwD categories.

For Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), the expected cut-off is 25–27 for General, 22–24 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 16–18 for SC/ST/PwD. These are only estimated ranges. The official qualifying marks will be released along with the final result.

After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be given a chance to raise objections within the prescribed period. The authorities will review all the challenges submitted by candidates and then publish the final answer key.

Following this, the GATE 2026 result will be announced on the official website. Qualified candidates can use their scores for M.Tech, M.E., and PhD admissions, as well as for recruitment in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
