The WBMCC has provided guidance on the Seat Surrender process for candidates who secured admissions in rounds 1 or 2 of the WB UG 2023 NEET Counseling but did not experience an upgrade in round 3.

New Delhi: The West Bengal Main Computerized Counselling (WBMCC) has issued guidance regarding the Seat Surrender procedure for candidates who were admitted during round 1 or round 2 but were not upgraded in round 3 of the WB UG 2023 NEET Counseling.
Considering the previous notice issued on the WB NEET counseling website dated August 5, 2023, under memo number HFW-23099/229/2023/M/2007, it has been stipulated that candidates who were initially admitted in either round 1 or round 2 at a private college and had opted for an upgrade but could not secure one by the conclusion of round 3, and further, are unable to meet the required full fee payment during admission at the current college where they are presently enrolled, have the option to surrender their admitted seats.
To proceed with the seat surrender process, such candidates are required to appear in person and submit a written application, in their own handwriting, to the respective college, requesting the release of their seat. The seat surrender window is open from 12 noon to 4 pm on September 19, 2023, in accordance with the server time at the respective college campus. Candidates may also authorize a first-degree family member to carry out this process on their behalf.
Upon the successful release of their seats, candidates will have their original documents returned to them, but they should be aware that their security deposit will be forfeited. As a result, they will no longer be part of the ongoing counseling process following the seat surrender.
It's important to note that candidates who were admitted in round 3 are not eligible for seat surrender; this option is solely applicable to those admitted in rounds 1 and 2. Any seats that are surrendered will become available in the seat matrix for an online stray round.
However, if a college fails to generate the server-generated seat surrender/withdrawal letter, the seat will not be vacated and will not appear in the online seat matrix for the stray round. Please be aware that no requests for the addition of such seats will be entertained at a later time.
