New Delhi: The Bar Council of India (BCI) will soon release the notification for the 19th All India Bar Examination (AIBE). Candidates will find important information like registration dates, examination dates, application process etc in the upcoming notification.

All law graduates who have enrolled in any of the state bar councils are eligible to register for the AIBE XIX (19) 2024. The AIBE is conducted twice a year. Candidates are required to appear in this examination to practise law in Indian courts.
The AIBE 2024 (19th) is scheduled tentatively for July 2024. Those who will clear the examination will get a Certificate of Practice (CoP).
What is the Eligibility Criteria for the AIBE XIX (19) 2024?
Candidates need to meet the following eligibility criteria to appear for the AIBE XIX (19) 2024:
- Candidates must have completed their LLB degree (either a 3-year or a 5-year course) from a BCI-recognized university.
- The minimum percentage required for LLB is 45% for the General category & 40% for SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Candidates need to be registered with the State Bar Council as an Advocate & clear the AIBE within two years of enrollment at any State Bar Council.
What is the Exam Pattern for the AIBE XIX (19) 2024?
- The examination is conducted in offline paper-pen method.
- The exam duration is 3 hours 30 minutes.
- It is conducted for 19 law subjects in 11 languages.
- The paper has a total of 100 MCQs. It will have two sections, Part I & Part II.
- One mark is given for every correct response.
- There is no negative marks in AIBE.
- Candidates with a disability of more than 80% will be given an additional 30 minutes to write the exam.

Ans. If a candidate does not clear the AIBE within two years of their tenure at the State Bar Council, the provisional enrollment with the State Bar Council will be revoked and that candidate will have to enroll again to take the AIBE exam.

- Candidates need to visit the official website and click on the registration link.
- Enter all the required information such as name, enrollment state, enrolment number, mobile number, email ID, and category.
- After successful AIBE registration, sign up using your login details.
- Now, fill out the AIBE 19 Application Form 2024. Enter information such as name, gender, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, academic details, and choice of AIBE exam centers.
- Upload the required documents
