Delhi Government Releases ₹108 Crore Grant for 12 DU Colleges

The Delhi government has released ₹108 crore as the third instalment of grants-in-aid for 12 fully funded colleges under Delhi University. The funding is intended to support important expenses such as teachers’ salaries, maintenance of college buildings, and other essential needs for the 2025–26 academic year.

In addition to this, the government has provided an extra ₹24 crore for urgent requirements, including infrastructure improvements, electricity, water, and other utilities. These measures are aimed at ensuring that the colleges can function smoothly without any shortage of resources for students and staff.

Education Minister Ashish Sood described this release as a “Diwali gift” from the Delhi government. He added that the grant would help the colleges manage their financial needs efficiently, addressing delays in previous funding that had affected staff and students. With this instalment, the Delhi government has now disbursed a total of ₹325 crore to these colleges during the current financial year.
