CNLU had Kickstarted a three-day national parliamentary debate with discussions focusing on academic research funding, the utilization of government scholarships in developing nations, and the evolution of primary and secondary education models.

New Delhi: Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) initiated a three-day national parliamentary debate on September 22, 2023. The opening day of the CNLU debate featured deliberations on topics including funding methods for academic research in social sciences, the extensive utilization of government scholarships in developing nations, and the development of innovative learning models for primary and secondary education.
A total of 34 teams belonging from various institutions, including Tel Aviv University from Israel, IITs, NITs, and National Law universities, such as NALSAR in Hyderabad, Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in Lucknow, National Law University of Orissa, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, along with its affiliated colleges like Lady Shri Ram College and Shri Ram College of Commerce, and the Central University of South Bihar (CSUB), are actively participating in this debate.
On the inaugural day, debates were conducted in 17 different rooms during two separate sessions on September 22, 2023.
The 14th edition of this three-day debate event witnessed a grand inauguration by CNLU registrar S. P. Singh. During his opening remarks, he fondly referred to Bihar as the birthplace of the world's first Republic, the Lichchwi Republic, which emerged in Vaishali.
He urged all the participants to showcase their exceptional argumentative skills and knowledge during these debates, which are conducted within a purely academic environment.
Hrishikesh Manu, the convener of the CNLU debate committee, expressed his gratitude to the enthusiastic participants. CNLU's vice-chancellor, Faizan Mustafa, extended his wholehearted support and assistance in organizing this debate. The inaugural session was effectively hosted by Gaurav Tripathi and Samiksha Choudhary.
The debate champions will be awarded a substantial cash prize of INR 54,000, while the runners-up will receive INR 30,000. Additionally, the best speaker and best adjudicator will each be presented with INR 12,000. In total, cash prizes amounting to INR 1.47 lakh, in addition to trophies and medals, will be presented to the deserving winners.
