ICSE and ISC students can improve their marks in one subject by appearing in CISCE Improvement Exams 2023. Registration will start from June 19 to June 23, 2023; Check full details here!

New Delhi: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has introduced improvement exams for ICSE and ISC students who appeared for CISCE Board Exam 2023. The exam will give students a chance to improve their performance in any one subject.
Informing about the exam, the official notice reads, “In keeping with the recommendations of National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in addition to the existing compartmental exam, CISCE has decided to introduce improvement exams for ICSE Class 10 and ISC Board Exam 2023 students”.
The notification was signed by the Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon. Principals of concerned schools will start the registration process of students for compartment exams and improvement exams from June 19 to June 23, 2023 through the careers portal.
Candidates who passed English and two other subjects and failed to secure the pass certificate are eligible to appear for ISC Compartment Exam 2023. Students can only appear for exams for only one subject and the application fee for registration is INR 500 per subject.

The notice reads, “It may please be noted that the candidates who choose to appear for subject English will have to appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the subject”. Candidates appearing for improvement exams in a subject with more papers can choose more than one paper.
The highest marks secured by students in two examinations; the main exam and the improvement examination will be considered as final marks. The complete schedule for the same will be published soon on the official website of CISCE at cisce.org.
Rodney Borneo, Principal of St Augustine’s Day School Shyamnagar said, “Sometimes, a student does not perform well in a paper because of health or emotional problems. If such students are allowed to write the paper again, it gives them a chance to improve their score”.
Earlier, the exam board announced the ICSE Class 10 Result 2023 and ISC Class 12 Result 2023 at isce.org on May 14, 2023. Those who appeared for the board exam can check their result status by entering their UID and index number on the result login page.
