According to the minutes of the meeting held by the Board, “AI already has a significant impact on industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing and transportation…It is crucial that the students develop a strong foundation of AI skills to prepare for jobs in the future.“
According to officials, it was recommended that a committee be set up, consisting of representatives from the central government, IITs, NITs, and AI-powered businesses and startups. The committee is slated to get together and submit a proposal for the inclusion of AI learning and training by the end of April 2024.

“The committee will prepare strategies for improving students’ learning outcomes using AI and digital creativity tools, and also focuses on promoting social inclusion by providing access to education and opportunities for students with disabilities,” said a senior official from the board.
Understanding and addressing various accessibility needs for students will also help stakeholders who are making and working with AI tools to better apply them to more diverse individuals. Implementing AI skill training in the Indian education system will be based on both short-term and long-term strategic goals. The policy that will come out of this proposal will also include AI training for teachers. The teacher training in AI will equip them with the best tools to support and teach students and make their work more efficient and less labor-intensive.
