Dr. Dhara Chavda holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Anand Pharmacy College and a Master of Pharmacy in Herbal Drug Technology from Saurashtra University. She has a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Hemchandrachary North Gujarat University. She has worked as an Assistant Professor at Amruta College of Pharmacy & Research Institute, as a visiting lecturer at Saurashtra University, and as a lecturer in Shree Leuva Patel Trust Mahila Pharmacy College. She has also completed training at Zydus Cadila Pharmaceutical Co. and Bhuvaneshwari Aushadh Ashram Ayurvedic Pharmacy. Currently, She is a Professor and Head of the Department at Shree H.N. Shukla Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in Rajkot. She has published 11 research papers in national and international journals.

As a H.O.D of your institute how do you carry leadership?

“My leadership style can be described as transformational and servant leadership.”

I believe in inspiring and motivating others to excel by setting a positive tone and providing clear direction and guidance. I believe in nurturing a culture of trust, respect, and open communication, where everyone's perspectives and ideas are welcomed.

Ultimately, my goal as a leader is to create a harmonious and inclusive institution that prioritizes the well-being and success of all its members while maintaining high standards of excellence in education.

How do you strategize about key programmes and plans for your department?

I aim to be accessible and approachable, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration among the staff and students. I encourage continuous professional development and provide opportunities for individuals to enhance their skills and knowledge.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of the industry?

With the advanced teaching methodology, students receive maximum practical learning, and our placement committee is strong enough to establish an industry-student connection.

What are some plans that you are currently designing for students?

For delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care, pharmacy students need to develop the competencies for friendly communication with patients and systematic and explicit attention to skills development, and learning skills for the industry.

How does your institution provide faculty development programs?

FDP is designed to enhance the teaching and other skills of the faculty. And to make them aware of modern teaching tools and methodologies. It provides an opportunity to acquire knowledge about current technological developments in relevant fields. We arrange this FDP Subject-related Training, Training on Leadership, Moral Values, Ethics, Behavioural Sciences & Attitudes for the different departments of Our group at H N Shukla College.

How do you maintain external relations with other colleges and any collaborations you have?

Collaboration between academic and administrative employees for seminars, conferences, teaching, and research objectives with some pharma industry in Sonalate, Santam Pharmaceuticals, V2 pharma, Sparsh biotech, B.K.Modi pharmacy college,Saurashtra University etc.
