What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

Our college is more like a family than an educational institution. All the students have a strong bond with the faculty, and we extend support to them in all aspects. We emphasise the physical health of all our students and encourage them to take up swimming classes, combat training and simple army-style training with the help of the facilities we have on the college campus. The main aim of the university is to develop clinical knowledge and skills through various courses, as well as to create a good environment for our students to ensure that they are being taught good moral values.

What do you see as CIMSR College’s greatest strengths?

I believe that the greatest strengths of CIMSR College are the courses we offer and how versatile our academics are. We have diploma courses, UG PG courses and PG diploma courses. A few courses we offer are only available at our college and are taught by top faculty who are highly experienced. Our students are able to gain knowledge and get the skills they require and that the industry requires of them. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls and a large playground. The college is committed to providing academic excellence at the highest level, CIMSR offers practice-based courses across a range of higher education programs. I can proudly say that our teachers are the best in the industry and they help us immensely to deliver our courses to the students.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I previously worked in the industry for several years and got into the education sector only a few years ago. I am an advocate by profession and have also completed my master’s in social work degree. After I completed my education, I wanted to do something for society, and the best way to do that is to guide and help the students, as they are the future of our country. I have an interest in learning, which is why I got connected to this field of education. I want to help the college grow and reach new heights with the experience and contacts I have in the community. Knowing that the students who are graduating from our college will someday grow up to be leaders in society gives me an immense sense of joy. This helps me to be more committed to my work and this field of education.

Being the Director of CIMSR college, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

Being the Director of CIMSR College, I have to take part in the planning of marketing and administration activities while focusing on excellence in education, research, clinical practice, and community service. According to our mission and vision, we focus on educating future medical professionals, advancing medical knowledge through research, providing high-quality patient care and ensuring all programs and initiatives align with the same. The aim is also to maintain high standards to get approval from relevant medical education boards, which is crucial for student placements and the institution's reputation.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Although we are living in the 21st century, students still don’t find it easy to open up or ask for advice if they need any. I always advise my students to be proactive in seeking knowledge and getting involved in class discussions. The youth should also be hardworking and dedicated to whichever career they want to pursue in life. Also, students should be ready to face challenges and they should always try to seek opportunities for growth in themselves. The youth should also develop a strong work ethic by setting goals, managing time effectively, and staying committed to their studies.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

My roles and responsibilities are divided into different parts; student management, administration and overall college activities. Towards the students, the main motive of the college is for the betterment of the students. I need to make sure that the students are being provided with a quality education and enough knowledge regarding the courses they have opted for. Also, it is my responsibility that my students feel safe on the college campus and are provided with the facilities they require. Towards the administration and faculty, CIMSR tries to hire the best faculty and staff for the admin department as well as the teaching department. The day-to-day activities of the college are monitored by me, and I need to make sure that the faculty is getting involved with the students while teaching and that all student queries are being addressed.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

At CIMSR, we offer students courses like Diploma in Dialysis, Diploma in Yoga, ANM and GNM. These courses are basically for those students who do not want to pursue higher education but want to do a professional course, which will let them immediately start working. It is also for those who are not financially stable and cannot opt for a proper career course. These courses will allow them to acquire the required skills and knowledge in the field they choose. Then we have proper nursing and other bachelor courses like BPT, BMLT, and Bachelor in Medical Microbiology. These courses are taught by well-educated professionals who use their experience and knowledge to help the students learn and grow academically. Further, if a student wants to extend his education and do a master’s course, they would not have to look elsewhere as we offer master's courses as well. We prepare our students well and provide them with enough skills that they can further start practicing at hospitals, colleges and other career fields if they choose to.

Being the Director of CIMSR, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

My philosophy of leadership is simple, my main purpose is to prioritise the well-being, growth, and success of my students. A college is built for the students, so my leadership revolves around the betterment of the students and the college society. I try to inspire and motivate the students and faculty through my experience and the learning I have received. I read somewhere that “a good leader is not the one who leads his people from the front, but a good leader is the one who pushes his people from the back so that everyone achieves success and not even one person is left out.” I try to follow the same path and hope that one day, because of me, my college students and faculty will achieve success and growth in life.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

In the next ten years, the university’s top priority should be to appear along with the big names in this educational industry. I can see evidence that this college will grow and achieve higher levels, but it will take time. Also, the growth should not only be in terms of standards but also in terms of the quality of education, the number of students and the infrastructure. The university will also prioritise using the latest technology in the classrooms and medical labs and open up more opportunities for our students for placement and internships. Moreover, CIMSR will try to open another branch in some other city of Uttarakhand and provide the same level of education to the students living in the hilly areas where there is a lack of good colleges and students have to travel to Dehradun or other cities to pursue higher education.
