The Philosophy of Leadership: At its core, my philosophy of leadership revolves around the principles of transformational leadership and leading through action & keeping everyone motivated.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your Institute?

The presence of students from diverse cultures and backgrounds provides a unique opportunity for cultural exchange within the college community. Through formal and informal interactions, students have the chance to share their traditions, customs, and perspectives. By engaging in dialogue, attending cultural events, and participating in intercultural activities, students can develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the richness and diversity of the world.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

To create design leaders focused on sustainability, educational institutions must integrate sustainable design principles into their curriculum. Courses should cover topics such as eco-design, renewable energy systems, life-cycle analysis, and green building practices. By providing students with a strong foundation in sustainable design concepts, educational institutions can empower future leaders to address environmental challenges through their design work.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the College and the students are?

Being an attentive listener is key to understanding the needs and aspirations of students. Encouraging an open-door policy where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas, concerns, and suggestions is crucial. Actively seeking feedback from students helps in identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes. By valuing students & opinions and incorporating their feedback into decision-making processes, college management creates an environment where students feel heard, respected, and empowered. To foster holistic development, college management should provide a range of opportunities and resources that cater to students & diverse talents and interests. This can include extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, and cultural events that encourage students to explore and enhance their skills. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment, college management enables students to develop their strengths and discover new passions, contributing to their overall growth and well-being.

How does the college prioritize student support services, such as career counseling, mental health resources, and extracurricular activities?

Our college prioritizes career counseling to help students make informed decisions about their academic and professional paths. This may include services like resume workshops, job fairs, internship placement, and alumni networking.

Mental health support has become increasingly important on college campuses. We at LISAA , often allocate resources to provide counseling, therapy, crisis intervention, and mental health awareness programs. Extracurricular activities contribute to students' personal growth and well-being. We often support a wide range of clubs, sports teams, cultural organizations, etc. to encourage involvement outside the classroom.

How does the college engage with industry partners and employers to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and aligned with the needs of the job market?

At our college, we have regular industry visits to the established industries as well as to the upcoming start-ups where the students are able to test their knowledge themselves by viewing the workings of the industry. We have an open day at least twice in an academic year where the senior members of the industry and also the recruiters are invited to review the student’s portfolio and have interactions with them.

This makes the student aware of the needs and demands of the industry and it also helps the faculty and management to align with the needs of the industry by continuously refreshing our course curriculum. We at Lisa’s organize workshops throughout the year on the latest topics and the speakers invited are the specialist in those fields.
