Dr. R. Sundara Ganapathy is the Principal at RVS Padmavathi Ammal College Of Pharmacy, Coimbatore. He has done Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University in 2009. He has a total of 28 years of working experience in the field of teaching. He has published a total of 21 papers in national and international journals. He has guided various projects and has several patents registered under his name. He has been the Editorial Board Member, of VRI Journal of Vedic Research Inc., VRI Press, New York, USA, and also the reviewer for various reputed National & International Scientific Journals like the International Journal of Chemical and Analytical Science (ELSEVIER).
What is your philosophy of leadership?
Teamwork begins with building trust. It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed. Individual commitment to a group effort is what makes a team, a company, a society, and a civilization work.
What do you see as this college’s greatest strengths?
Providing excellent education for students coming from rural areas and downtrodden people which in turn makes them highly qualified for this world.
What are some of the biggest challenges for higher education in the current era?
A few challenges include Enrolment, Equity, Quality, Infrastructure, Political impedance, and Faculty.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?
I would like to suggest students do hard work, continuous efforts to reach their goals, and Dream big. Establish a set of values, maintain emotional stability, and be humble.
How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your College?
By providing good relationships and having clear communication. From classroom layout to project ideas, let students have a say. Fewer decisions for you to make and fun for students to feel like they helped create their environment.
What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?
An inbound student will be able to build personal skills, exceptional career opportunities, gain practical exposure, and professional development. Studying is not just important for educational development, but also builds personal skills. Having good study skills can improve your confidence, competence, and self-esteem.
How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?
To ensure enough, high-quality benchmarking of globally acceptable qualification standards. To train the students to understand with experiential learning and practical approach. To enhance the skills of the students to be able to apply their knowledge to face and resolve real-time challenges.
What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?
In the coming years, our college would like to enhance better education by implementing various modes of quality education. It helps to design and facilitate student’s individual learning paths by developing a Drug Information Centre which offers a consistent set of learning goals that align well with the curriculum.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities are, being the Principal?
My roles and responsibilities as a Principal include taking possible teamwork to become vigorous, to act as a Mentor, Guide, Decision-Maker, and Leader for Teachers, Students, and the Administration. My responsibility is to create safe learning paths and set goals for both students and teachers.
