Dr. B.S. Indira Gupta is the Chairperson at Gupta College. She has done Ph.D. in Management from International American University in 2010. She has a total of 28 years of work experience.

Being the Chairman of GUPTA COLLEGE what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

I strongly believe that the education we provide would be one that is inclusive, equitable, and accessible to all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, religion, or gender. It would also prioritize student-centered learning, where students are actively engaged in their own learning and are encouraged to think critically and creatively. Additionally, the curriculum would be relevant to the needs of the 21st century and would incorporate technology and digital skills. Finally, our system would be well-staffed with highly-qualified lecturers who are supported in their professional development.

How does the curriculum of Gupta College ensure the best practice in the industry?

There are some significant gaps between the needs of the industry and the curriculum offered by the university. The gaps are mostly related to the recent development in technology and the practical implementation of these technologies. We are bridging the gap by collaborating with the industry and getting them involved in the teaching-learning process. We focus on outcome-based learning, where the aptitude, knowledge, and experience of each student are measured regularly.

What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

Online and offline learning coupled with modern innovations have brought about a major shift in the way society and students perceive education. Combine that with technology and we have a new pedagogy structure for our students. As education practices are being recalibrated to complement technological capacities with the emergence of the National Education Policy 2022, the future of the Indian education system appears bright. Currently we are practicing hybrid mode, which gives us an edge over others, as our students have the opportunity to listen to industry giants. NEP has given us a lot of liberty to us to move forward for excellent co-curricular activities. The next 10 years are going to be the deciding factor for the growth of students and in turn the institution.

What is your vision for Gupta College?

Our vision is to develop the college into a center of excellence in professional and technical education and our mission is to serve the nation by nurturing and developing professional technocrats and managers who would contribute to nation-building.

What would you like people to know about your Gupta College they may not know?

Gupta College started 25 years back with a clear-cut vision to provide quality education at an affordable cost. It is situated in the heart of Bangalore and right on a 100 ft Ring road. Every student who scores above 60% will be eligible to get a scholarship.Skill development has been the priority of Gupta College. This has resulted in excellent placements for the students. Every student gets an opportunity to attend at least 3 to 5 interviews resulting in an excellent placement record.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

I would like to advise students that do not follow the herd. Assess yourself related to your strengths and weakness. Work on your strength and chose your career accordingly. Choosing the right course is extremely important. Understand your limitations and move forward. Take the help of our Counselor to choose the right course. Focus on your skills as they play a vital role in getting through the interviews.
