Mr. P.K Dwivedi is the Director of the Oriental College of Nursing. He did MBA and has 17 years of work experience. He founded Manav Shikshan Samiti in memory of his late father Shri J.P. Dwivedi in 2004. The establishment of the Oriental College of Nursing took place with the support of other trustees.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“Implement ethical values, discipline, kindness, and respect for elders”

The campus generates strong ethical values of humanity, politeness, kindness, and respect for elders in all students besides academic excellence. I believe that education should foster confidence, discipline, and clarity. It aids in decision-making ability to set and achieve goals. Social responsibilities are a life-long process above all these.

“Internships and training for four years available for students”

The four years of course on campus includes internships. Students can go for training in the district hospitals and medical colleges in Korba. They also go for clinical exposure. The hospitals select the students after completing their courses. Our students are selected as clinical instructors and tutors for hospitals.

What are the facilities available to students in Oriental College Of Nursing?

The facilities such as hostel, mess and sports ground reach to all pupils in the campus. Different kinds of activities such as seminars and yoga are held on the campus every month. The Guinness Book of World record holder Dr. Rajesh Kumar takes a motivational class for candidates. Many motivators other than him also provide excellent sessions for the benefit of students. 

What are your future goals on campus?

“Plan to start the MSc Postgraduate program for pupils”

We decided to start the MSC post-graduation course. In the next year, we will get permission to start the course in college. Our institute comes in the top 5th rank in Chhattisgarh and students conduct vaccination by linking with the health department, Korba. We always conduct health awareness programs in urban and rural areas.

What is the top priority of campus for the next 10 years?

“To develop interdisciplinary skills of students at the national level”

The academic program of the college is not only to develop knowledge and skill in a specific discipline. It also develops interdisciplinary integrative skills and understanding responsibilities widely. This happens at the local, national and international levels.

Any suggestions do you give for current youth?

“Learn from your past and perform well”

My suggestion for youth is to work hard and perform well from the beginning. It is necessary to never look back and learn everything from the past. Mistakes are normal. Make sure to not repeat the errors. One should always learn from their past and succeed in the future.
