You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What keeps you connected with the education sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?
I stay connected to education because I'm passionate about teaching finance and empowering my students. My experience at the institute has been rewarding. I enjoy witnessing students' growth and success, which motivates me to continue making a positive impact on their academic and professional journey.
Being the assistant professor of your institute, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
As an assistant professor specializing in finance, my main role is to teach students about finance-related topics. This includes explaining concepts like budgeting, investing and financial planning in a way that's easy to understand. I also help the students with any questions they have and guide them to succeed in their studies. I aim to create engaging and informative lessons, provide guidance and support and offer valuable insights into the subject matter.
Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to the real-world challenges?
We have so much to offer which is beyond-the-syllabus that enhances the student's skillset. These include industrial visits, capsule training program, on-the-job training experiences, excel certification, soft skills development and student-led clubs, such as those focusing on culture, sports, CSR, IT and entrepreneurship to name a few. Students engage in hands-on activities that promote experiential learning and personal growth with these facilities. Moreover, guest lectures by industry professionals offer valuable insights and keep students informed about current industry practices.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?
We follow the syllabus of affiliated university. However, in addition to that we offer various our own courses, like Excel certification, soft skills development, hands-on training, industrial training, internship facilities, and guest lectures. We do so in order to make the subject industry-oriented as well as the overall development of a student.
What do you see as the greatest strengths of your institute?
Our students, core values and principles are our biggest strength. Our institute runs MBA, BBA and MBA (Integrated) programs for women approved by AICTE New Delhi, Government of MP and affiliated to Barkatullah University Bhopal. When it comes to academic performance, training achievements, and job placements, SHIM has been the top choice since it opened its gates. Our students excel in academics, often ranking among the best. They've also won various national-level events, bringing pride to us. Our students have shown their skills at prestigious institutions like IIM Kolkata and IIM Indore. The highest job placement package in Central India proves our students' abilities. The positive feedback from internship organizations further demonstrates the potential of SHIM students.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
Youth and aspiring students should focus on practical learning. Learn the technical and soft skills the industry requires and learn them before you appear for placement interviews. Stay determined, stay focused, and never lose sight of your goals. Maintain a mindset of learning throughout your life in order to remain competitive.
