Which factors make the Hospital Management program of your college worth pursuing for students?

Nowadays, everyone wants job security and a normal graduation course might not be helpful in giving that security, but a professional course, rather can address the need more correctly and be more beneficial for ambitious youths. Apart from this, a professional program gives an individual the most awaited career opportunities and growth. And if I talk specifically about the Hospital Management course, career options are limitless and never ending and this field also offers lucrative jobs in both public and private sectors of reputed Hospitals and Nursing Homes. And if we remember the pandemic time, whenever everyone's business was shut down and we were bound to stay at home, Hospital Industry was the one that has stood in unprecedented times and saved millions of lives by providing services to community people. So this speaks all about the kind of secure domain Hospital industry has.

What best practices are incorporated by the IIHM in its courses to ensure future readiness of students?

As we all know that every career oriented and professional course is a combination of 60% theoretical knowledge delivery and 40% practical-based learning. But at the Indian Institute of Hotel Management, we focus on both areas and provide the best quality education, digital classrooms and ultra modern infrastructure to students so that they can learn and grow in the best possible ambiance. We also have modern laboratories and a hospital lab with all the updated technology and infrastructure to educate students about the actual ground reality and scenarios they might have to work with in future. Last but not the least, we conduct different kinds of health camps where students get amazing chances to practice, workshops, industry visits, hospital visits and seminars so that they remain aware of what to expect when they go to industry.

How did you train yourself and your faculty members to deliver this program to students?

I try to keep myself updated with the latest trends and changes of the industrial world. Apart from this, we all attend different kinds of workshops, seminars and industry visits on a regular basis to stay in sync with current happenings of the outer world. These events also help us to interact with corporate professionals and to learn what changes are being made, what technologies, and what operational activities are being implemented in industries at present.

What challenges have you faced while inculcating new programs in your college's curriculum?

The main challenge for us whenever we update any new courses in the curriculum is updating our own knowledge with respect to industry requirements and developments. And training everyone in the right technologies or establishing a sync between everything takes time, which sometimes becomes a tedious task for us. However, we overcome every challenge with the tremendous support and guidance we receive from our seniors, Director and Deputy Director.

How do the programs of your institute ensure students' preparedness as per industry standards?

Our institute regularly organizes industrial visits and seminars to educate students about the latest trends, development, standards and expectations of industries and give them a complete picture of everything like what skills they need to develop or kind of difficulties they may face at ground level. And we also have an industry driven Curriculum which does the rest of the work of preparing our students for the unpredictable yet demanding future.

How do you build a strong connection between your institute courses and industry requirements?

We have a dedicated Training and Placement Cell in our college who work rigorously to ensure good relationships with our industry partners and connect with industry experts as and when required. And this direct interaction of our college people with corporate masters helps us to design our courses in accordance with industry standards which is very much required to bridge the gaps between students skills and industry requirements. In addition to this, our T&P Cell helps us to build rapport with a diverse range of companies and educate students about the kind of career options they have and environment they may get while working in real world scenarios.

What benefits and career options would be available to students after pursuing HM course from IIHM?

As far as benefits and scopes are concerned, a vast range of career opportunities are available in the outside world and students after successfully completing the course of Hotel Management from our college can work in Administration like Departments in diverse kinds of private hospitals including a Super Specialty Hospital, a Multi-Speciality Hospital or even at a Nursing Home. Apart from this, individuals can get a job of Assistant Superintendent or non-medical profiles as well in Government Hospitals based on their knowledge and experience. Then there are many retail sector telemedicine companies where our students can apply and get a good job. Last but not the least, I would like to touch upon one important point here and that many of us have the opinion that Hospitals are all about Doctors, Nurses, Medical and Paramedical staff etc. but let me tell you that to run a hospital, uninterrupted back-end and front end support is required and this is where the admin department becomes very important.
