She has four years of experience in hotel operations, including Taj and ITC, with a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management and a Master's Degree in Travel and Tourism. She has 8 years of academic experience with a focus on the front office, accommodations, and food and beverage service. Her areas of specialization include alcoholic Beverages and food & beverage operations. She has a good Knowledge of creating guest lectures and workshops for non-teaching personnel and students. Arranging student placement and training with hotels and the hospitality sector. Educating and nurturing students as per market demands. she is a good academic counselor. The certified master trainer conducted two TOT (Train the trainer) programs for govt teachers and industrialists in the field of hospitality and food processing.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

The philosophy of leadership is the set of beliefs that guide an individual’s approach to leading others. It involves taking responsibility for motivating and inspiring individuals to work towards a common goal. Additionally, a comprehensive curriculum should also cover topics like marketing, leadership, and human resources management. They should be able to provide students with practical knowledge crucial in the hospitality industry. What will you say are the “best practices” in the course of hotel management you’re offering?

All the college departments have designed various certificate and skill development courses to bridge the gap between the curriculum and requirements of industry and corporate sectors. This provides extra knowledge to the students. Apart from that, every department organizes various types of events at the Departmental, inter-departmental, inter-collegiate, university, state, national and international levels to provide the requisite platform to the students. These events are organized in accordance with the vision and mission of the college along with the maintenance of harmonization with the aims and objectives of the Department. These events are structured and executed for the active participation of the students at every level whereby students can learn through real-time situations. The guidelines are issued by the principal regarding such kinds of events, which are planned out and executed at the departmental levels. There is an organizing committee of the teachers and students working under the able guidance of the respective Head or Coordinator along with a group of the students who participate in the event.

To build an industry connection with the hotel management we establish partnerships with local hotels or hotel chains to provide internship opportunities for our students. This allows them to gain hands-on experience and build connections within the industry. We also invite professionals from the hotel industry to lectures or conduct workshops for our students. This provides real-world insights and networking opportunities for students to connect with industry experts. We collaborate with hotels, and resorts to develop joint projects or programs. This fosters a strong relationship between our institution and the industry, opening industry-sponsored projects. We organize networking events and career fairs specifically for our hotel management students. This allows them to interact with hotel professionals, potential employers, and industry representatives, creating opportunities for mentorship, job placements, and industry networking.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this hotel man program in your curriculum?

The biggest challenge was getting the students to understand the program and its relevance to their future careers. We had to make sure that they understood how this program could help them in their future endeavors. Additionally, we had to ensure that the program was taught in a way that was engaging and interesting for the students. Finally, we had to make sure that the program was tailored to meet the needs of each individual student.


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this hotel management program?

The students are working on a variety of projects related to hotel management. These include developing marketing plans, creating budgets, and managing customer service.
