What is the latest program you are offering in your institute/department? Which will help the students to perform better and stand out from the crowd?

We have a general B.Tech. program for undergraduate students. The B.Tech. program is available in Mechanical Engineering specialisation among others. Apart from the regular B.Tech program we also have a Diploma course along with a M.Tech. degree in Turbomachinery.

What are the factors that make this program the best for students to choose?

Mechanical engineering can be an appealing subject, as it involves designing, researching and manufacturing technology. The M.Tech. in Turo Machinery is an interdisciplinary branch that offers a lot of internship and placement opportunities. These degrees can equip people for many jobs by teaching them the course basics and technical skills, including product design engineering and management consulting.

What would you call a "best practice" in the course you are offering?

The best practice that our department is following is a mentor-mentee relationship program. Students are given a mentor for the duration of the course. The mentors look into all the grievances of the students and try to solve them in the best possible way. Our goal is to make sure students are mentally happy and are able to exploit all opportunities that come their way.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Apart from regular studies, we also provide extra classes and help students prepare for competitive exams like GATE and INET. Our teachers and mentors are always present to give advice and guidance to the students. Furthermore, we organise resume writing sessions and mock interviews for students to prepare for placements.

How have you trained yourself/the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

We made the best use of all available resources in both online and offline modes to train our teachers. For example, in online mode, we have new programs run by IITES and expert lectures that our faculty can access at any time. We use ICT tools, and we present different options through PPTE and Themes for our teachers to upskill and learn new teaching techniques.

What are the benefits and career options after doing this course?

Most B.Tech. students opt for placements, but some also take admission into higher education. They are eligible to take admission to M.Tech. degrees in any chosen specialisation. We provide counselling services for our students to help them decide which jobs to take and which career path to pursue. Our graduates can work in design, production, testing, and research departments in all industries.
