Dr. Anita Kaul Gupta is the Admission Coordinator at ICM. She holds a B.Pharma degree from K.L.E. Society’s College of Pharmacy, J.N. Medical College, Belgaum. Thereafter, she completed an MBA degree and an MA in Economics degree. She also qualified for the UGC NET.

Dr. Gupta has been working in various positions with top education institutes like the Institute of Business Management Meerut, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Academy of Management Studies Dehradun and IMT Ghaziabad.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

Our latest offering for students is the MBA programme. We have over 11 specialisations that students can choose from. Each of these specialisations offers completely different career paths and job options that students are trained to apply for and succeed in. At the undergraduate level, we have our BBA degree, which acts as the starting course to pursue higher education at the postgraduate level.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

It is a professional course that helps students make a career. MBA students can choose and build careers in a wide range of industries. We also have classes for students to develop their personalities. We have grooming sessions where students can improve their communication, body language, presentation, and other relevant skills that make them more employable.

What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

The best practises in the courses that we offer is that they are practical oriented. We concentrate on teaching technical skills and give opportunities to practise their theoretical knowledge. Our courses are also professional courses, meaning our students are taught industry-specific skills. They are job-ready upon graduation and go through intense soft-skill development sessions.

What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institute/dept.?

Our students are able to get the best jobs and build up successful careers due to the way we teach them and conduct our courses. We help our students to get good jobs and advancement in their professional lives.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Our courses are job oriented and we also have soft skills enhancement sessions. We focus on improving our student's communication skills. Not only do our students have in-depth knowledge of their field of study but they are also knowledgeable about what is required of them by employers. They can accordingly train and earn these requirements.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Our teachers go through FDPs or faculty development programs on a regular basis. We also have online training for them to upskill and keep up to date with their fields. Most of our teachers hold PhD degrees and are constantly taking part in research and engaging in self-study in their personal time. We also ensure to pick the cream of the crop when there are job openings.

How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?

To ensure we have industry connections, we have regular workshops and talk sessions where we invite experts and professionals in different industries. They share their knowledge and let students know what they look for in potential employees. We have also created a platform for students, alumni, and professionals to interact, network, and share ideas.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

The biggest challenge we faced when shaping our programme was a lack of know-how among the students. Students did not know enough about courses and instead chose to enroll in courses following their friends and family's advice. We faced a lot of issues meeting this lack of information. We chose to meet this gap by approaching the student population through social media.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

In the past our students have found jobs in both the private and Government sectors. As our students possess all the skills to fit into any job, they are able to secure interviews at both of these sectors.
