Azim Premji University Financial Assistance

Azim Premji University provides extensive need-based Scholarships (financial assistance) to deserving UG candidates based on their financial ability. To avail the financial assistance the family income must be below 12 lakhs per year. The university provides financial assistance in the form of fee waivers covering accommodation expenses and tuition fees. In some special cases, it also covers food expenses.

Financial Assistance Process

  • Candidates must mention that they are applying for financial assistance while filling out the application form.
  • After selection in the admission process candidates will have to fill the detailed financial assistance form and submit the supporting documents within a specified time.
  • The University’s financial assistance team will analyse the financial condition of the applicant as the decision will be made based on it.
  • The University will conduct its own verification process through a third-party agency, to validate all the financial information including income details and supporting documents provided by you. Any discrepancy can lead to the withdrawal of financial assistance.

Documents Required for Financial Assistance

  • Father’s and mother’s bank statements (also other contributing members’ bank statements) with last year’s transactions.
  • Valid income certificate (if family income is less than INR 2.5 lakhs).
  • Last three years’ Income Tax Returns (ITR) (if family income is more than INR 2.5 lakhs).
  • Audited Profit and Loss account statements for the last three years. (If the member is self-employed).
  • Salary slip
  • Form 16 issued by the employer
  • Medical documents, siblings’ fee receipts etc.

The university can ask for more documents if needed throughout the process. Documents must be authentic otherwise financial assistance will not be provided.
