Mewar University Extends PhD Admission 2026 Deadline to January 24; Check Revised Dates Here

Mewar University, Chittorgarh, has officially extended the application deadline for its PhD January 2026 batch. As per the revised schedule, candidates can now apply till January 24, 2026. The university has also rescheduled the PhD entrance examination and interview, which will now be conducted on January 31, 2026.

The admission process includes the Mewar University PhD Entrance Test (MUPET), which consists of 100 marks divided into two sections – research methodology and subject-specific knowledge. Candidates scoring at least 50% marks in the entrance test will be shortlisted for interviews. Applicants who have qualified national-level exams such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, CEED, GPAT, DST-INSPIRE and similar tests are exempted from the entrance exam and will be directly called for interviews.

To apply, candidates must download the application form, fill it manually and submit a scanned copy via email along with a hard copy by post to the Director (Research), Mewar University. The application fee is ₹2,000. At the time of admission, candidates are required to pay the first instalment of ₹1,00,000.

The PhD programme has a minimum duration of three years and a maximum of six years, extendable as per university and UGC norms. The university has also announced attractive fellowships and teaching assistantships of up to ₹40,000 per month for deserving candidates.
